Description

Once our telematics device has been fitted to your car, we will record all your journeys and score each one based on your driving behaviours.

You can download the GA telematics app to view your journeys and scores. We’ll also give you feedback on your driving to help you improve your scores and ultimately your safety on the road.

If you drive safely throughout the year, you can influence your price when your General Accident insurance renews.

For each journey you’ll be awarded a score out of 100 based on the behaviours and skills you demonstrate such as:

• Smooth driving
• Speed
• Fatigue
• Time of day

You can use the scores and additional data shown in your app to help you improve your safety over time.

We’ll give you a discount on your General Accident insurance for taking out the policy and at renewal your premium will be based on how you’ve driven over the past 12 months. We reward safe driving, meaning safer drivers may pay less.

If your telematics device records what we deem to be unsafe driving then your policy may be cancelled so it’s really important to make sure you always drive as safely as you can . This also applies to anyone else who’s driving your vehicle. All the detail will be explained fully in your General Accident Telematics policy documents.

Please read everyone for telematic issues!!

If anyone who is reading this is having the same issue, being unable to login or register please complain to general accident as it has been 2 weeks and they still haven’t responded to my call which was logged with the appropriate team. I am unable to view my driving scores and find it hard to get them to provide them via email. Because of this I am unable to view how my well my driving is like. If you make a complaint now and if general accident later on cancel your policy while you haven’t been able to view your scores on the app and been usable to obtain them via email from them, they legally cannot do this as they didn’t fulfil their part of the agreement, which a part of it was to provide a working application for iOS. I have also made a complaint and still waiting for a response. Hopefully they will fix the app soon as driving everyday without being able to view your score and with all the bad reviews about the telematics policy on trust pilot, it is making me a bit nervous.

App needs a serious update

The app is VERY glitchy on iPhones. It constantly bugs and says that an update is required, even if there is no update available. At this point it is unusable as when it bugs you can’t log in and check you profile and it’s just an update screen. On the rare occasions when the app is working the measurements are buggy. For exactly the same route I always get different mileage. The “time of day” score is always low and there is no explanation on how to fix it or when it’s best to drive. Sorry, but 11am or 14pm to me seems like a normal time, but unfortunately, to the app it’s not. It’s very frustrating, especially taking into account that customer support don’t really care and don’t bother responding to emails or troubleshoots.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY

Worst company and app I’ve ever used. Still 3 months into my policy I cannot get onto the app, it’s saying update required but no update is needed. I’m getting threatened texts saying my score is low but my driving has been perfect. I believe they send you warnings to cancel policy when your driving is actually fine so they get away with taking peoples money and cancelling policies! I am seeking legal action as every single time I complain, which I may add has to be via email as no telephone customer services! I receive the same reply like it’s almost automated and never once has my issues been resolved. It’s absolutely terrible and il be contacting the insurance obudsman about this. Beware of this company!!
