Couldn’t wait to come back👍🏻

Took 2 years on a contract, with a horrid unmentionable, huge corporation ‘Dopeyfone`! Don’t ask kids at Uni had to replace a phone, gave mine and went on a contract!! Never, ever again! So many calls to Cairo, yes a call centre in Cairo! Over priced!! Contract changes, promised no roaming anywhere, even charge in Munich Airport yes EU!! Moved house, charges went through the roof! ET didn’t move home as promised and didn’t come home for 6 weeks!! Used IPhone to complain, then more complaints to Dopeyfone, as charged well over the odds!! All whilst waiting for the contract to end! Broken promises again and again about unlocking my phone! Until I formally complained and threatened a formal complaint to ofcom!! Finally a visit to the new Dopeyfone shop resolved everything and I was finally freed from the chains, of a communications corporation whose right hand doesn’t know what it’s left hand is doing! And hooray I’m back with Giffgaff! Next new phone will be from Giffgaff, at 59 years of age I never want to listen to so many broken promises and pay extortionate prices/ be tied into an ever increasing unpredictable direct debit ever again!

Technical problems

Disappointed to say the least. Was notified by the automated service that I would need to top up. Opened the app on my phone and needed to log in despite having finger Touch ID. Regardless I logged in my member name and password and they didn’t match so tried again. Was then informed I had two identities for same account. The reason for this is because my ID was not accepted previously so I changed it Oct 2019. Due to this I reverted to previous ID. Following this I was informed my sim was inactive. I emailed giffgaff, explaining everything. Their advice was to log in using specified ID. When the log in screen came up the ID they had recommended I use was my member name yet I was requested to put in my password. Knowing this would be incorrect I decided to contact them again but none of the options were adequate or kept taking me back to main menu.
Despite being told, incorrectly, that I needed a new sim, the following day I received a second reminder informing me they had given me an extra 1mb data and to top up. Now, with patience and time exhausted ( this started three days ago) I see no point using ‘my account’ because I know my details will again not be accepted. and the whole process will be repeated again!! I will therefore not be able to increase my monthly amount as intended ,worse still I will run completely out of data and have no means of contacting them or anyone else.
Ridiculous situation.

Bit confusing

Bought a £6 card at the store, but upon activating I had to choose a package - didn’t I pay to get £6 in store??
Also, community is on a different side, not actually on the app, so you have to log in to ask questions every time.
Bringing a friend over to giffgaff should make it worth my while from the first card, I am doing your marketing after all, so £6 instead of £5 seems more than fair compensation for my efforts to keep contact with friends and family through this group??
It’s also limited in UI & UX - the app is not as intuitive as the developers seem to think it is.
Even with loads of sms’s that I’ve had to send with specific codes, EE got that part set up very informatively, leaving me informed at all times and not confused - go check out the competition.
