Recent ELKATherm radiator plus Heat Hub installation. In theory, the app is easy to use to adjust individual radiators, groups and the whole set. Each group can be programmed and it’s very flexible.
However, there are problems which, in my case, occur at almost every use. It crashes often. There are frequent banners saying it hasn’t been able to communicate with the heat hub or various radiators. Half the time these messages appear even though the radiators have beeped, indicating they have indeed accepted the change. This could be a problem if you’re driving home and want to turn your heating on when you’re an hour away. Is it on, or is the error message true?
It often asks to resynchronise and then either crashes or sticks with the little wheel turning forever. Then when you close it, swipe up to properly close it, and reopen it, the desynchronisation occurs immediately.
I’m over 60 and wonder how much of what remains will be spent using this app….

My app will not synchronise my system saying app not communicating with heat hub. It communities all the rest of the time setting radiators changing heat settings etc but will not syncronise. This is especially frustrating when you cannot set holiday mode and so your heating is blasting out to an empty house. I have tried using the app on my I pad and have exactly the same problem as with my I phone. Initially the app worked perfectly the problem seems to be with the newest updates

When heatapp is actually working well, it is very easy to control radiators and track consumption. However, all too often it does not work well. Since the update earlier this year, after opening the app to change a temperature and selecting the room, it has always reverted to the phone home screen. After opening for the second time, it works. While it has kept weekly consumption records, the monthly records have always been chaotic. It combines several months of data into one and omits some months. It often requires resynchronisation for no apparent reason and claims that it cannot reach the heat hub even when I am close to the hub and can see that all connections are good.
Finally, after today's update it has completely stopped working. Therefore completely useless. The app has been available for many years now, so it is high time for the developer at long last to make it reliable.
