Rointe Connect 4+

You are letting down your products. Love the radiators but your app is awful.

- needs a boost function for say 30 mins 60 etc. don’t rely on users having to manually switch on or use timer

- app doesn’t show if devices actually on or not. Often shows off or on within the app when device is opposite. There doesn’t seem to be a validation that what the app is saying is correct. A worry as I just don’t trust it

- app looses connection regulation with devices and I have to reconnect some for no apparent reason

Please look at hive / nest etc (or pay their developers) as it probably is the worst app I use regularly

I would give the radiators and towel rails 10 out of 10 (we have purchased 15 at serious cost) the app though probably 2.

I left a 1 star review for this app, but I’ve now found workarounds for most of the bugs and updated to a 3 star review.

The most important thing to note is that when you have completed the set up of your radiator it says “wait at least 30 seconds before pressing the button”. DO NOT PRESS THE BUTTON until you’ve waited at least 3 minutes. This is so annoying because if you press before 3 minutes the app gets stuck and you have to start all over again.

Also if you choose a password with special characters it will tell you that your password is incorrect when you try and log in again. Just use a simple password. This applies to your WiFi network password, it will omit any special characters if you choose to save the password to add multiple radiators, which is a pain.

Setting up the heating programme is clunky but you get used to it. It’s annoying that if you switch to manual it never switches back to auto again.

With a bit of work this app could be very good.

As with all the Rointe Connect apps, and the Rointe D systme in general it is practically useless in a Apple smart home. No Apple Home connection. No simple functions like boost temperate in room for 1 hour - you have to manually raise the temperature, set yourself an alarm for 1 hour, then manually set it back to auto otherwise it stays on forever cause you forget!!! You can't rearrange heaters into different zones you have to delete and re-add. No ability for 'Shortcuts' or any Apple iOS type features. Plus no API to enable others to fill the gaps in this terrible product set. Wasted lot money on this!
