Hollie Guard turns your phone into a personal safety device. Protect yourself from violence and accidents, record evidence and alert emergency contacts of your whereabouts quickly and easily. With Hollie Guard you’ll benefit from: Automatic recording of audio and video evidence that’s shared with your emergency contacts and stored for future reference A motion sensor that detects trips and falls and automatically alerts your emergency contacts in the event of an accident Multiple ways of raising an alarm, including shaking your phone, a panic button, as well as meeting and journey triggers Professional alert monitoring (if you upgrade to Hollie Guard extra) If you feel like you’re at risk, shake your phone or tap the screen to generate an alert. The app will share your location and record audio and video evidence, these details will be sent to your emergency contacts who can take action and get help. We are now integrated with the Health Kit to improve battery usage for location when stationary. Hollie Guard Extra If you feel you’re at risk and need extra protection you can upgrade to Hollie Guard Extra. Hollie Guard Extra adds a professional alert monitoring service to your profile. If you raise an alert, the audio and video evidence will be shared with a professional response centre who will notify emergency services on your behalf. Great idea but not practical

Like others have said it’s a great idea but fails as you need to be constantly logged in for it to work. The shake alarm also doesn’t work unless you log in first. In an emergency situation you aren’t going to have time or foresight to log in first. I’d read the designers had resolved this in December but sadly this doesn’t seem to be the case so I will be deleting the app and looking for something else for my daughters and I 😭

Hi, thank you for your feedback. I am so sorry to hear that you will be looking elsewhere instead of using Hollie Guard. We do suggest having the app logged in and running in the background while you are out and about or may need it, you can swipe off the app but we suggest not closing the app down as this will log you out. If you do wish to continue using the app, please could you open your device’s settings app, locate Apps and Hollie Guard and ensure that Location is set to ‘Always Allow’ with ‘Precise Location’ on, also please make sure that Camera, Microphone, Bluetooth and Mobile Data are all toggled on as well. With location ‘Always Allowed’, if you have the app off screen but open in the background, you can shake to raise an alert and also alert data will be recorded while the app is not on screen. I would also suggest turning on biometric login on your Hollie Guard settings as well so that login with Face ID is smoother and quicker. Great idea but not practical

Like others have said it’s a great idea but fails as you need to be constantly logged in for it to work. The shake alarm also doesn’t work unless you log in first. Doesn’t keep you logged in - expects you to keep it open constantly

I love the idea of the app, but sadly it doesn’t keep you logged in anymore unless you leave it open and don’t force close it otherwise it logs you out!You use this app in emergencies, so you need to be able to use the app quickly!If you can’t keep us logged in if we close the app, then add biometrics.We need to be able to use the app QUICKLY!We can’t be expected to keep it open all the time.I contacted them and they said this is by design…If you force close, reboot or update your phone, you need to open the app and keep background app refresh on, otherwise it logs you out!My bank apps can log me into the their apps in seconds, but this app has no biometrics.Not good as if you need to use the app, you need quick access!Can’t be having to keep it open just in case, using your batter none stop with background app refresh too.Use biometrics if you can’t keep us logged in.No reason why we choice have to keep the app physically open constantly, just in case you need it in an emergency.Not just keep it open but have background app refresh too, which does add to battery draining, but also is over the top for an app you only use in an emergency.Security doesn’t mean logging people out. Use biometrics if you want to make people log in and can’t keep us logged in.I’m now looking at alternatives sadly.

App logs you out if you don’t keep it open and if you do exit out, you have to wait 1 minute before you can log in again. In an emergency a minute can be crucial. Love the idea of this app but does need work

If you close the app by swiping it up and closing down, this will log you out and you will need to log back in. We have enabled biometric login again recently to improve the login process, you can enable this within the App and Alert Settings menu in the Hollie Guard app and by switching on biometric login (Face ID) in your device settings menu under the Hollie Guard app section. If you’ve logged in and closed the app you can’t log in again for a minute, just trying to work my way round the app, it doesn’t make too much sense as of yet, I’m not sure if I hold the alert button does that contact my emergency contacts? But if you do log in don’t close the app as you won’t be able to log back in for a minute.

I will update my review response with any updates. I would suggest ensuring that you are leaving the app running in the background and not closing the app down fully by swiping up and closing down as this will log you out. I would also suggest turning on biometric login (Face ID) to make the login process quicker by toggling this on within the ‘App and Alert settings’ menu within the app and by enabling Face ID in your device settings and locating Apps then Hollie Guard.Regarding the alert button, yes, you will need to hold this down until the timer reaches the set amount of seconds and your alert will raise and notify your emergency contacts, it should then display a red screen stating that an alert has been raised, giving you the option to cancel it by entering your PIN. If you are having issues with your alert raising or your emergency contacts receiving your alerts, please could you email info@hollieguard.com with your mobile number and email address so that I can locate your account and check your settings are all correct.
