As well as all of your favourite features such as changing your tariff, managing your monthly direct debit payments, entering your gas and electricity meter readings and keeping track of your gas and electricity usage with your smartphone on the go, we've also added a bunch of exciting new features for you to try!
It’s now easier than ever to find your key services within the app, we’ve organised the home screen by categories. You will see all of your energy account related features first and foremost as you told us these were most important to you. The home screen is personalised to you, depending on what features your account should have.
Homes are becoming more and more connected, with Smart Meters and Smart devices such as the new Honeywell Lyric Thermostat allowing us to gain more control of our home while on the go. The Smart Home section allows you quick and easy access to all of your Smart Home devices, right there on the home screen with just one click.
As a company, we are committed to a cleaner energy future and we want to allow you to easily control your eco-friendly Electric Vehicle in the app, find your nearest charging point and see some other key information about your vehicle as we add more features to the app.
Stay Logged In
We have introduced the ability to stay logged in to the app. You may be used to this with some of your favourite apps, if you would like to log out each time the option is still there in My Account.
Change My Tariff
Are you on the best energy deal for you? Our online tariff selector lets you compare our available energy tariffs and it only takes a few minutes to choose a new tariff. WithFreedom, you can change to any ScottishPower tariff without paying exit fees.
Direct Debit Manager
Stay in control of your monthly direct debit payments within the app. Our handy direct debit manager tool allows you to view your gas and electricity usage and adjust payments to suit your needs, helping you to know where you stand with your bills.
View Bills & Energy Usage
Monitor your energy usage and bills across the year, view a detailed breakdown of your gas and electricity and even email your bill with our simple usage and bills graphs. There is also some really handy energy efficiency tips to keep you on the right track.
You can also:

New filter feature added to Energy Usage graphs
- We have enhanced the Energy Usage graphs to allow users to compare/view usage up to 3 years
- New view tariff details feature
- We have enhanced the home page to allow users to view their current tariff details, such as Unit rates, Standing Charges, Contract End date and more
New Direct Debit Feature
- We have introduced a Direct Debit explanation tool which will allow users to see clearly how their Direct Debit is being calculated
New Pending Payments feature
- We have enhanced the Bills page to show users their pending payments and provide better visibility on payment transactions.
In addition to the new features we have also worked on bugs to better improve the user experience
Ratings and Reviews
After the latest iOS update, which may or may not be relevant, my email or password were allegedly incorrect. That message was the same on retrying twice more. I indicated I’d forgotten my password, entered the emailed temporary one and the same message resulted. I tried with three temporary passwords each with the same result. I’ve given up now. As successful as my SMETS 2 order which was followed by a call from the installer saying they wouldn’t be fitting a smart meter whatever Scottish Power said. I got several emails reminding me of the installation date. No-one came. When I phoned SP, I was given another number which proved to be the installer. He read me the job request from SP which requested they install “..a first generation SMETS1”. I’d specifically said if it’s not a 2, don’t accept my request. This is a scam to indicate government targets are being met, imo.
Cannot Make Payment Via App
Having had this app for years, I was in the habit of paying my bills via the app. Since I have another bill to pay, I naturally went straight to the app to make my payment. Guess what...no apparent way to pay your bill! I assumed there must be some mistake, so I signed out of the app and back in again. Still no way to make a payment. Checked that the app was up to date. It wasn’t, it had been updated two days before, so I updated it, signed out, switched my phone off, back on again and signed in to the app. Still no way to make payment. To ensure that I wasn’t missing anything, I checked Scottish Power website, which confirms that I should be able to use the app to pay my bill. I assumed that I must be missing it, so tried tapping, sliding, pulling, dragging, using haptic selection and every possible other method of selecting and investigating the website features, but still no way to pay bill. Checked Scottish Power and Google website again for screenshots of what the payment page should look like and how to access it, but despite all of the above, still not able to use the Scottish Power App to pay a Scottish Power bill! Yes folks, it really does appear that Scottish Power have produced an app that does not allow you to do the primary and single most important aspect that you (and they!) would want you to do...pay your bill. Absolutely astonishing fail! Your app had one job, Scottish Power, just one job...
If I could give minus stars for this company I would. I contacted them when we first moved house as the last people had them. I was told there was an issue they would call back within ten days. Two weeks later I called them... oh it's going to be another ten days.... then got a letter saying I had to do something or get a fine... I hadn't heard back before so I called again. They apologised and said they still hadn't sorted the problem. Yesterday I got a letter saying I'd missed putting a meter reading on my online account... was news to me one had been set up... so I called and yes it had and I finally (five weeks later) got to know rates. I had taken out boiler cover and when I the logged on online this was all that showed I couldn't even put a meter reading if I wanted. I downloaded this rubbish app and though I could log on online the app kept saying my password was wrong even when I got new ones sent through. The company is crap in comparison to the people we were with at the last house, the app even worse as it just doesn't work, and the rates aren't exactly the cheapest. Just awaiting tomorrow when I can call them again as I got the same letter I got yesterday about the meter readings again today. I can't wait to leave them and take my business elsewhere.
