Reducing your electricity usage at peak hours, at the same time as other ScottishPower customers, helps balance the power grid. By switching off appliances and using less electricity as a collective, all of our energy reductions help to offset the use of traditional power plants often used during times of peak demand.

Great idea
Great idea but takes ages to get confirmation of points and there appears to be no set standard as to the amount of power saved to the amount of points given. Be interesting to see how this goes in the future but happy to help with this pilot study.
Also more warning of upcoming events as I’m often out and can’t get home to rearrange heating times.

Repeated Notifications
Notifications regarding event and participation are repeated after confirmation of agreed involvement. No explanation or contact details to query points that are allocated. On two different occasions reached my power saver Kw target which were approximately equal, on the first occasion was awarded over 450 points but on the second only received under 100 points. All data was approximately equal apart from points allocated. Would have liked an explanation ellimike

Needs more thought …
Invited to participate in Nov 2023 but took a few months & 3 calls for the system to be able to take half hourly readings. Participated in our first event a few weeks ago & managed to save way under requested target, however only awarded 17 points - might be dead before I qualify for any rewards! Will keep going as it’s a good idea but they need to rethink the rewards.
