Okay, but free and better options are out there

I downloaded Hollie after seeing it on my
local news, and after Sarah Everard’s disappearance. Immediately as I opened the app, I was hit with a “pay £80 to be extra safe” screen, and I immediately wanted to uninstall it. However, my friend had added me as an emergency contact, and I felt I had to do the same, so I kept it around. Fast forward two weeks and I feel unsafe walking through town, I couldn’t get it open fast enough. In the time it took for me to open it, login, enter my pin and start an alert, the man following me had passed me.

It’s an okay app, and a good idea, but it’s kinda exploitative and not as good as free apps out there.

Great concept!

This is such a fantastic idea and I’m so glad there are people out there making apps like this. The emergency contact and alarm system work great, however it would be much easier if you could activate the emergency button without logging in. Or if the log in was a simple one/two step process. As opposed to right now where you log in with the pin and then there’s a few other steps that seem unnecessary once you’ve created an account. All it needs to be is ‘enter pin’ and then you can enable the alarm - that would be quicker and more useful. But I am so happy that I have this app, just that one point would make it even better!

Needs work

I walk alone every day with dogs and because of increased attacks on dog walkers to steal our family members and use them for live baiting and breeding prompted me to give this a try. Unfortunately every time I walked over some uneven ground or climbed a fence the app would send an alert to my emergency contacts x 3, telling them I was in trouble. They won’t bother to check after the fourth/fifth false alarm so I’m afraid I’ve deleted the app and bought a high grade police approved alarm. The idea is good behind this app but some areas still need tweaking.

Hi, thanks for your review. We value your feedback. The app has a shake to raise alert function and man-down, that may have been selected and resulted in an alarm being raised when you climbed the fences you refer to. We would like to encourage you to try the app again and change some of the settings in your profile to suit your needs.
