Overall the app is okay however the search function isn’t very good and Next Pay doesn’t work so I can never use it when I’m in the store. When Next Pay was a separate app at least it worked. Even the store staff said theirs never works properly either and they constantly have to log in and out to get the Next Pay icon to appear at the top - I managed to get mine to show for a short time but now it has gone again. However a long-time bug-bear is that when you search for shoes there is no option to search for vegan shoes, you get the option to search for made with leather but not made without leather. And easy fix I’d have thought. If you try to search for boots, you don’t get any option to filter by material. So you have to look at each pair individually and go into the product information section to see if they contain leather or not - hence why I haven’t bought shoes or boots from Next for years. Every other shop on planet Earth seemingly has an option to search for vegan shoes and boots except you guys….

The app itself isn’t the worst nor the best I’ve ever used, but it’s ok and does the job (usually).I’ve always paid my bill using the app, either card payment or Apple Pay. Never any issues until this latest version. This last statement month I made my payment as usual, or so I thought, using Apple Pay. Looked like all had gone through properly on the app. Didn’t receive the usual email confirmation but I know sometimes it can take time to arrive. Didn’t think much of it until I got an email reminder to make a payment, at which point I checked my bank account and my Next account to see the payment HADN’T been made, so I made an immediate payment via bank transfer. However, by this time it was too late for payment to arrive in time and for the first time in my life, I’ve not only had a fee for a late payment but it’s also now going to show on my credit report as a late payment. I pride myself on never paying late and always paying in full, on ANY credit I’ve ever had, and as far as I was concerned I’d once again paid in full and on time but clearly despite payment looking successful it hadn’t completed in app.Please, check that if you’ve made an in app payment that it’s definitely gone through, because it hasn’t necessarily done so even if it looks like it has!

First time I’ve used app as had a gift voucher. Ordered my items then realised I needed one a day earlier then I’d request, so tomorrow (Saturday) rather then original day of the day later (Sunday) - it was an option when first ordering so silly of me. Anyway I thought at first the lady on web chat was good as I told her I needed to change day I’d pick up from store to day earlier she said this wasn’t possible but I could cancel and re orderChanging the day. So that’s what I did and then I asked her would I just be able to reorder now using my gift card but she just typed a farewell message and that was it.Turns out I now know why, the refund takes 5+ days to come back as I have to wait for a replacement gift card, so the web chat lady was not correct and I could not go ahead and order the item for tomorrow as I discussed with her. Anyway I have no money on my cards as very close to pay day and need the item for Sunday so that me stuck, last time I use app on online ordering and definitely last time I trust staff on web chat. I called info number and it was them that told me about refund taking so long so I requested a complaint be generated re staff on web chat but she didn’t seem to want to go ahead with that. Anyway I now have money on a gift card that I probably won’t find anything to buy with as I’m not a next shopper and without one of the rare items I have ever seen and liked at next.

Some aspects of the Next app are ok - the layout of the page is easier to navigate than the web site for example. However, there are many irritating faults that make app shopping tedious. If you click on a particular item for a good look at it then return to your search results it takes you right back to item number 1 rather than where you were which is extremely annoying & quite often I just abandon shopping rather than have to scroll through to find where I’d got to. Also many of the sizing guides don’t load so it’s impossible to gauge the measurements of different brands - so again I often give up & shop elsewhere. If only Next could have a good look at both the app & the website & fix some of the issues on at least one of them I’d shop more often with them as the products they stock & the prices are not bad.
