I kept coming across this app on odd little list of apps that people found essential and thinking - wow, that sounds a lot of money to pay for an app that’ll probably fix a few geeky things about web browsing that I don’t notice anyway. Pleased to report that I was UTTERLY wrong and that this app is a work of broad-spectrum genius, devoted to giving you back control every time a web app feels like taking it from you. After using it for a month or two you start to forget just how much it solves and decomplicates about the daily experience of using the internet — then you use someone else’s computer for a few minutes and are reminded how creepingly demoralising the process without it can be. Worth every penny!
Just Brilliant….

After being a long time user of the original STM I was surprised when I stumbled on this ‘Pro’ version, however, as the original was a must have for Safari extensions I bought the update to support the dev (Jeff) thinking it wouldn’t be a massive change to the original version like a lot of ‘pro’ versions on the App Store.I was VERY wrong… wow! What a brilliant upgrade to an already outstanding program. It’s a universal app so one purchase will cover your iPhone, iPad, MacBook etc. The only thing lacking is family sharing, but he’s an indie dev and income is required….The app itself has a raft of options to allow you to make websites work as they should and not how some clown in a back office at a multinational company thinks you should use them!Turn them all on or off on a per site bases, on a per platform basis at your leisure. The tracker removal feature is great as is the website element blocker.I have an issue with Money Saving Experts website, where it insists on a ‘sign up to the newsletter etc etc to have it delivered every week’. I have got to the website from a link in the email so it’s just an annoyance. This program easily allows you to block the pop up element so it never bothers you again! Fantastic. Also the element blocker manager is now far more user friendly in this version. There is a shedload of additional options to tinker with and all with iCloud syncing so no more remembering to export settings and import them to another platform, much better.I didn’t think I’d need this and bought it more to support the dev than anything, and boy was I surprised at the vast array of improvements in this very much ‘Pro’ upgrade. You cannot afford to NOT have this in your extension collection, as along with a good ad blocker, you have the power back in your hands and not the website designers and marketers!
Developer Response
Thank you very much for the wonderful review! One little correction: Family Sharing should work with StopTheMadness Pro.
Wow. I can’t believe this exists.

I thought I was expecting oddities and no way to achieve them on a browser. No. Somebody (this man here) has got your back.£15 seems a lot of money for an app that’s got no practically no ‘shiny UI’, but what it does it does it very well.It doesn’t phone home. It doesn’t collects analytics, it doesn’t betray me, and just tries to be helpful. We ack the possible bugs if we toggle settings on/off and that’s totally ok. I was still using basic adblockers hoping for a holy sudden help from the sky to browse with iOS safari but wow this is totally worth all this cost if keeps working as it’s been doing in these first few days.
Does everything it’s supposed to

I found out about this on Daring Fireball and I was a little hesitant because of the price (broke student…) but I got it and it’s made web browsing a lot nicer. I would like to thank the developer for making this app, it works great across all my apple devices and actually looks like an app made for the platforms. My favourite features are the video controls and the iCloud sync
• Autoclick buttons: Use the Frame Domain about:blank for about:blank iframes
