As a big fan of SqEx games, I’m a little disappointed by this one. There is a tremendous amount of grinding that you need to do to progress through the game. Levelling up hits a wall when you reach about level 30, and certain shrines become impossible unless you’ve been lucky enough to win the best 3-star items from the gacha (which I did, and yet still felt like I barely scraped by).The actual gameplay is short, superficial, and boring. All you do is move your character around the screen and then stop to attack. This repeats for a couple minutes until you complete the stage or die. And part of me thinks the developers knew how uninteresting this gameplay is because you can just leave the battling on “auto” so that the game plays for you. 95% of the time spent on the app is responding to notifications and checking/rechecking your inbox to be awarded 10 gems at a time (out of the 3000 you need to use the transmitter 10 times); leaving the game to play in the background while you farm materials and monster memories; and making small micro adjustments to your weapons and equipment. It’s rare to find a moment where you can actually manually play the game. Perhaps some people enjoy the thrill of the gamble, as this is a gacha game at heart, but I actually find it a lot of work for a lot of disappointment, with no sustenance in regards to the actual gameplay. I played for a few hours for 6 days and then deleted the app.
