Swapsy is the free app for swapping and buying motorbikes, off-road bikes and electric bikes, rider to rider, across the UK. Fancy an adventure bike instead of your naked? List what you've got and swap it, with cash on top if the values differ. Just want to buy? Ask to buy at the seller's price, then pay face to face at the handover. THREE WAYS TO LIST • Swap only: swap your bike for another, with a cash top-up to balance the deal. Not actively looking? Tick "Open to swap offers". • For sale at a fixed price: buyers ask at your asking price, and you can counter. • For sale or swap: happy either way? Your bike shows on both Swaps and Buy. HOW IT WORKS • List your bike in minutes: at least 4 photos (whole bike, both sides, and the odometer or display if it has one), plus make, model, mileage, condition, MOT, service history and V5 logbook status. A missing MOT or V5 on a road bike is flagged clearly, so nobody gets a surprise. • Off-road bikes welcome: motocross bikes and electric off-road bikes are listed clearly as off-road only, not road legal. • Browse Swaps and Buy, search by make or model, use the filters, or open the Map to see bikes in rough zones near you. Save the bikes you like, and save a search as an alert. • Get matched: Swapsy compares what you want with other riders' bikes and shows your best swaps first. • Send a request: Swapsy writes the first message for you, so it's quick and nobody gets pestered. You can chat once the other rider replies. • Agree the deal: once a request is accepted, the terms are final and the bike shows as "Swap agreed" or "Sale agreed". • Meet and hand over: agree a time and a public place in the app, go through the handover checklist together, then you both tap "Deal complete". • Leave feedback: rate each other from 1 to 5 stars, so good riders stand out. HOW PAYING WORKS Swapsy doesn't take payments. Buyers pay the seller face to face at the handover, in cash or by bank transfer while you're together. Any cash top-up in a swap is paid the same way. Never pay a deposit, or anything before you've seen the bike. Prices and top-ups go up to £20,000. There's no payment protection, so only hand over the keys once the money is with you. NO HISTORY CHECKS YET Swapsy doesn't check finance, stolen, write-off or MOT records. Before you buy or swap, check the V5C or proof of purchase, the frame number and the other rider's photo ID yourself, and think about buying a history check. FAIR PLAY AND SAFETY TOOLS • Requests are written by the app, and nobody can chat to you until you reply. • Limits on requests stop anyone pestering you, and unanswered requests close after 7 days. • Report a listing, a rider or a deal in a couple of taps. Real people at SteadyGen review every report. • Block anyone, and you'll both disappear from each other's view. • The chat warns you about common scam signs, like being asked for a deposit or to pay before the handover. • Private riders only: up to 3 bikes for sale at once. PRIVACY BUILT IN • Other riders only see roughly how far away you are, like "~7 mi away". Never your address. • The map shows bikes in rough zones, never exact spots. • Number plates are partly hidden, and frame numbers stay private until you agree a deal. • Your email address is never shown to other riders. • No ads and no tracking. FREE DURING EARLY ACCESS No listing fees, no swap fees and no selling fees. Everyone who joins now gets a founding member badge. WHO IT'S FOR Riders aged 18 and over. Anyone can browse. You need a free account to list a bike, send requests or chat, and your account needs to be a day old before you can buy. Sign up with email or Sign in with Apple.
