Be aware of all that’s important
Oh, the fridge door has been left open? When do I need to descale the coffee machine? How often should I clean the oven? Finding the best programme and other little helpers
Dishwasher, dryer, or oven – depending on the appliance and task at hand, you will be recommended the ideal programme and settings, whether it’s a pile of dirty dishes, a load of washing, or the cheesecake recipe for your next family reunion. Based on your feedback, programmes can even improve over time to better fit your needs. And with Coffee Playlist you can conveniently fulfil your guests’ coffee requests to match that cheesecake.
Let your oven do the work
Don’t want to keep checking whether your dish is ready? Simply set the desired browning level for the selected dish and start the oven. Artificial Intelligence evaluates the browning level based on images taken by the integrated camera. The oven switches off as soon as the selected level is reached. The camera also lets you check your dish from anywhere on your smartphone.

Sigh - they had to mess with it and make it worse? The new ui is far less intuitive - it’s not easy to know the best settings to use on washing machine now to compare options. The one thing I wanted on my hob was a fast way to remotely turn off the fan (that’s still buried in an option where less used child lock features are front of house … grrr).So while it works, I’m not raving when it should be a clear selling feature for future appliances .Let’s hope the new design team engage some real users with common tasks.—-/Previously: I have a lot of Siemens / Bosch appliances and this is the app you need to control their WiFi enabled products. I had initially thought it was a gimmick but it’s actually quite useful to get a reminder when the laundry is done, or to speed up the dishwasher etc. It’s been mostly reliable, there was an update that showed gibberish for my Serie6 washer (untranslated/lost ui msgs) but it got fixed in the next update.Many reviews seem to have issues connecting, I didn’t find this. There is the odd “device offline” confusion but I’ve found this was corrected by rebooting my iPhone (or power cycling the appliance) - I didn’t need a dreaded factory reset. I hope they try to keep improving this as it has lots of potential, but the skeptic in me reckons it will get abandoned over time (fingers crossed)

Update going backwards ?

I put up the review below after a BSH major update. Since then there’s been even more ‘improvements’ none truly successful. The App / Appliance / Home network connection is simply not robust. And if it drops you can’t reconnect without going through a lot of button pressing. Overall it’s an utterly dreadful effort and not worth installing or paying a premium for a WIFi enabled appliance.Down to one star now!“Since my last review the App has been updated. It’s now useless. So previously it couldn’t connect to my home network from a moving train. Now matters are much more simple - it can’t connect to My home network from outside my house! I get a ‘needs activation’ pop up every morning but it’s not clear if that’s related and there’s only a ‘dismiss’ option so that’s no use. It might be something else of course, but I have suspicions. Half the instructions don’t work - connecting to my washing machine requires pressing a non existent button! So, frankly instead of ironing out problems this update has rendered a weak app useless. Does nobody do any QA before releasing this rubbish on customers or are we supposed to do it! BSH are supposed to be premium brands so why is their software so bad?”

Was great, connection issues with last update

Update Jan 27, 2023After an update around late last November all worked fine again, until the App version 9.1.1 update about two weeks ago. Now the Fridge/Freezer makes no attempt to connect to my WiFi. If I power the Fridge/Freezer off and back on it works a few times communicating to the App then within a day it stops connecting to the WiFi until another reboot. This is so frustrating as it appears to be the App causing these issues.Update: Oct 19, 2022, I received a response from the developer asking to delete and reload the App, which unfortunately I’d already tried as well as deleting the device and paring it back. I’m beginning to think it’s the device at fault as connections come and go from every few minutes to under an hour. The reconnections are filling my Routers logs around 800 per day. None of my other devices have issue…Original Fault:I’ve had this App for just over two years connected to my Bosch Fridge/Freezer. It’s been perfect at sending notifications to my phone if the door is open too long and when I’ve wanted to turn it to supercool away from home ready for unexpected shopping. Nothings changed with my network but since the last update it keeps going offline. Tried booting fridge and phone and router but hasn’t helped. All other devices are fine, my router just sees it connecting and disconnecting, so sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. Anyone else see this, if so please add feedback.

Very poor execution of the app. First you have to connect the appliance to your network, which never connects using the WPS function, and using manual method is poor in the extreme. Then if you are lucky to get this connected, you then have to connect to the app itself. I am savvy in technology and still found this difficult.To add insult to injury, if you wish to use a different device, you have to go though the whole sequence again. I would have thought that once you where logged on the on a different device you would automatically have the right connections, wrong! Do not buy 5e appliance for this feature.Update: Having eventually connected both my Bosch dryer and washing machine, the app appears stable and connects as soon as the machines are switched on. There is too much advertising on the home page, and the app generally is over complicated for everyday use. However, if you just want to use the app to view progress of the programme and the notification of the finish, then download and use.
