Love Rev, fees maybe a little overpriced but it makes up for it

Been using Revolut for about 4/5 years or so now on platinum (iirc) subscription with metal card at £15 a month, you have to use it right to I get your monies worth - cash back and revpoints enabled etc but overall the functionality and the quality of this app is far superior to any major bank. Shows how little effort and how cheap high street banks are. Barclays is terrible compared to rev for example. (Yes i know rev isn’t a bank but it’s a technicality end of the day). You can see what’s upcoming easily, do a million different things, love the disposable cards and the fact I can BLOCK merchants whenever I feel like it. That’s such a great feature considering they usually have CPA through your card at HS banks so nothing you can do about them re charging you or anything. Revpoints great idea but I was dissatisfied when it seems you can do 1 point per mile of air travel in reality the airline effs you and you get nothing of the sort. Use it for vouchers instead (clothing etc) trust me on that. Overall i can’t fault it, unlike HSB EVERYTHING IS INSTANT. It’s so satisfying, a little hard to navigate sometimes but that’s not because of bad design it’s just the sheer amount of features on offer to you, so can’t complain about that. Savings are really easy, can make accounts for different things keep track easily and the fact they offer crypto with auto purchase and SP/SL etc great. Be nice to be able to trade more inside the parameters I set but I just downloaded revX so see how that goes! Overall recommend 10/10.
So many bugs but good customer service

I was really exited to use this card as my boyfriend uses it and don’t seem to have any trouble with it. I got it as a have difficulty sticking to a budget so I got This and l locked up all my other cards. The card has been rejected about 50 percent of the time that I have tried to use it. This is especially a problem when using the national express bus service as if one doesn’t have a exact change you can end up paying 10 pounds for a 2.50 journey. Similarly I foolishly linked it as my only card to my Uber app which didn’t work meaning I had to take far more expensive black cabs. So despite getting this card to help myself stick to a budget I have actually wasted a total of £64 in unnecessary transport costs. On the plus side the customer service live agents are very helpful and really do all they can to help out and it my partner uses his for when we need to chance currently for which it works very well. And the card is now working most of the time with under and with contactless payments. A word of warning though you cannot use it to buy bitcoin via blockchain. I tried doing so today and was rejected. When I tried paying the money back into my current account that I had taken it out from it said it could take up to 3 days despite going into my revolt account instantly. As I have direct debits due on Monday this could well lead to an overdrawn penalty charge. Overall great for using foreign currency on holiday or tracking a child’s spending but I wouldn’t recommend it to be relied upon as a main source of payment.

A few months ago I would’ve given this a five. As someone who needs to make several small exchanges each year this app was marvellous, even though I find it really difficult to navigate the app. It’s just taken me half an hour to make a payment to a new person, but I suppose it might become easier if I could make more payments more frequently. I have recently become very disappointed when the amount of inclusive exchange was drastically reduced from £5000 to £1000 per month. Whilst I may not need to use the app every month, I now need to be very organised to escape exchange fees. I believe I can get a better deal if I go to my foreign exchange when I have to pay fees. Having said that I haven’t needed to do that yet as I am just organising better. I also find it very difficult, firstly not being able to speak to someone and secondly I just can’t find the dashboard or online chat section. I am confused as to how often I can make transfers for free as I know that there has been a big shake up with the T&Cs ie if I exchange £1000, can I then transfer £100 to 10 different a/c or is there a restriction on how many people I pay a year? My last problem is that having changed my phone, the app now does not work on the phone. It will not recognise my pin number (which hasn’t changed) and it will not recognise my fingerprint. Maybe that could get sorted out if I could actually find the online chat function.

This app was perfect. Had 4/5 bank accounts and this was my go to bank cos the app was wonderful and the service was fast. Customer service always turned up when I needed them. Recently I was asked to resubmit documents, this process took about a month as they kept saying the documents needed resubmitting. After dozens of attempts and failures my account was put on hold for review, got released and then put on hold again. They came back to say they’re terminating my account. They won’t tell me why. My frustration is that I use this account for day to day. I cannot imagine how they’ve come to any conclusion but I’m not using the account according to their terms and conditions and something to do with security. How’s getting a muffin from Morrisons each week causing a security issue, I don’t know. I’ve frustratingly closed my account as they don’t share details with. It’s left me baffled. I’m sure there are real criminals out there getting away with staff and normal law abiding citizens deal with staff like this. Such a shame. If you choose to bank with them I hope you have only the good experiences I had with the cos they’re super when they’re at it but if not I can’t blame you cos when things go wrong, you won’t get an explanation when you’re kicked off. It’s a 3 star experience for me ruined by how things ended. Hope this helps.
