What’s New

Version 25.3

This month we have lots of visual fixes, and one new experimental feature we'd love your feedback on.

Visually, we've:
- Updated the site picker to be simpler and easier to use – it adds support for staging sites, context menus, and previews.
- Fixed an issue where some navigation bars in the app were transparent.
- Fixed an issue where private site icons wouldn't load.
- Updated dozens of screens to avoid visual bugs by simplifying the code.
- Fixed an issue where the Subscribers chart would show the wrong background color.

Under "App Settings", you now can try out Application Passwords – a new Experimental Feature for self-hosted sites that allows them to work with the apps if they use 2FA or SSO.

Permanently crashing useless app

I’ve been using Wordpress more or less since it started. I’ve been using the Wordpress app from the beginning. I’ve not had a serious problem with either and for the last few years I’ve been editing, updating and creating new blogs mostly from my iPhone.
Then Wordpress introduced this disastrous Jetpack app which now always crashes, so it is unusable, whilst disabling the functionality of the useable Wordpress app.
Yet again a developer wants to turn an app into a platform by adding in bloatware and prioritising novelty over functionality.
FIX THESE ENDLESS JETPACK BUGS OR ALLOW US TO USE A FUNCTIONAL WORDPRESS APP!

Jetpack for blogging and starting my small business

The app is easy to use and what’s really helpful is knowing how many hits I’m getting. I find the responsive nature of the templates and how easy they are to use means I spend less time having to update my information which is so much better since I’m going into business now

Almost unusable

Despite numerous call outs to Wordpress support, this app continues to disappoint. Buggy, slow, constantly stalling, no solutions have been offered by the makers, other than it seems to be a huge drain on your device memory when using, which, more than once, it was claimed updates would fix.

In principle, this app should be absolutely invaluable. The interface is smooth and instinctive, and it’s clear a lot of thought has gone into it. In practice, it’s a nightmare to use on both iPad and iPhone, and I’m at a loss to understand why.

Could it be a plug-in conflict? Could it be that Jetpack works better if you host your site with Wordpress? Whatever the reasons, this is such a disappointment, and I’m at a loss to understand why the developers haven’t deep dived into issues raised by paying users to try and address concerns.

I keep hoping that with every upgrade they’ll sort the basic problem of crashes and stalls. With every upgrade, they get worse. Please sort this. There’s a great app here, but it has some fundamental issues for some users that need to be addressed. Thank you

Developer Response ,
