Much better than it used to be

Earlier updates caused problems with Wi-fi connectivity to the washing machine which meant I spent ages trying to get it to connect, but I have not encountered any issues with the last few updates - so well done the developers. On the whole I find this App works very well with my washing machine now. The alerts I get on my phone to tell me when my washing is done help prompt me get it out on the line to dry! One request for the developers - could you make it possible to adjust the settings for the download cycles via the App. For example if I want to run a spin cycle I have to download the spin programme and then change the spin speed on the machine because the App won’t let me change the programme settings.

Works but sooooo flaky…

I can’t figure why but the two Korean brands we have favoured both make superb products but their support apps are so flaky. LG’s ThinQ has got better with updates but getting it to connect our American fridge freezer to WiFi is always a battle requiring several attempts and the app indicating one thing and the appliance another. Eventually, it works. Smart Diagnostics will then work some distance from the appliance. It has proved far better with the WiFi tv (app can serve as a multifunction remote) and washer. The washer isn’t WiFi enabled but I have just used the audible codes ability to do a Smart Diagnosis check on a possible failed heater element - all was passed ok. The app also reminded me to do a tub wash I have never done (should be monthly) though the instructions on what detergent or additive to use were confusing. Consider this app (iOS version) a work in progress.
Update: Since initial review we added a wifi enabled drier and find the method of connecting machine to app unnecessarily complex and confusing (app says one thing, machine does another) and, initially, the drier was regularly disconnecting from the app. Reliability has improved over time but reconnecting when required is still too complex and confusing. The ‘work in progress’ conclusion about the app stands. When it works, it’s very good.

Very disappointing app.

I have to say the app is a big let down considering that my washing machine is rather complex and uses AI. I can’t believe that the app is less than basic. For me, the disparity between the two is just shocking. The company clearly has a lot of skilled IT people working for them, but it feels like the app was just an afterthought, something someone thought was a good idea to have, but no time and effort has gone into making it a good working tool for the users. It really lets the company down. The very frequent updates are quite annoying especially that, as a user, I can’t see any changes! Feels like an Agile approach gone wrong. The app has now also stopped communicating with my product for no apparent reason. Giving it two stars because it has worked for a bit and I liked the fact I could see the energy usage which helped me choose the most efficient programs (only when the washing machine was on though which also is not good enough). Please raise the priority of the work on the app. You have the right skills, use them!
