LinkedIn members have the option to verify their identity by securely uploading a government ID and/or taking a live selfie using certain trusted partners. I have been on here now for 5 years.I began my artist group 4 years ago, which went from 9 members to 128 at the beginning of the second year and is now happily around 756 or so. It is not quantity of members, but each their wonderful quality. As manager of my group I see how members manage their connections and posts. I help them if needed as best I can.My artist group is for anyone who is artistic or who loves the arts and is creative and wanting to explore the arts.I also see downsides to us all being connected via LinkedIn, only because when communications are down on the site, we are immediately unable to communicate with each other. Fortunately for me I have several peoples’ emails or can contact them on other social media sites. My members do seem to have difficulty, even when they have clicked the top bell, seeing their connections’ posts.I have chosen to not pay to have Premium, so maybe when I have fake accounts or problems to solve with members being abused online,I do not have as much help, I would hope that was not the case. However the main downside to being on LinkedIn is how cumbersome it is to get help with online abuse or parts of the system not working, it takes days for someone to get back to me and by then I’ve found another way myself or there is no solution available.Apart from this I have to say I have amazing connections and if LinkedIn no longer functioned, the smooth running of my day to day communications all over the world, would be much less or nonexistent. So thank you for having facilitated this.Best regards Chloe DouglasManager and owner of Chloe Darkwater Artist Group.

Stolen Identity - Identity Theft on Linked In
robynor
My name is Robyn O’Reilly. I have had a profile on Linked In for over 12 years. This year - in March 2024 - my profile was taken over by a person named Lina Ouyang. Whenever I log in now onto my profile I receive an email saying ‘Hello Lina’ ‘we want to check that it is you’ and ‘we want to ensure the security of your account’ ETC ETC This ‘Lina’ person is NOT me - BUT has taken over my account and is posing as Robyn O Reilly Lawyer Mediator and Dispute Resolution Professional. Linked In - the ‘Company’ - have failed to assist ME in either accessing my own account OR Protecting and / or Correcting the Identity of my account : despite that i have recorded multiples of Alerts which I have made to Linked In and which Linked In respond to the entity called ‘Lina Ouyang’. I have found a ‘Lina Ouyang’ on Messenger - whose picture fits the picture that has been posed on MY 12 year professional account. I have asked Linked In for HELP and have only been taken around and around in circles where I have had to / been ‘invited to’ Upload my personal Identity card/s including DL to god-knows-where and where EVEN then this Lina person CONTINUES to occupy My profile; while I am ‘informed’ BY Linked In that I ‘must sign in under a different - new - identity’ : This is Ridiculous and - if it were not SO serious - risible! Please ALERT Linked In that they MUST do something to protect what is otherwise an Extreme and Gross DATA Breach of their own clients Data and IDs.

Terrible bugs, issues and experience
ReginaSteddon
Terrible experiences with this app. I updated my phone then accidentally got locked out of the app because I couldn’t remember my password, so I tried to reset my password but to do that you need to be logged into the app, which I can’t do because I can’t remember my password. Each time you click to reset your password it says you need to do it in the app, and each time you go into the app it locks you out for not remembering your password. It is a silly situation that I’ve never experienced before with another app or website. Trying to get someone at LinkedIn to help is like trying to get blood out of a stone. I have tried contacting them by email, via Twitter and just get an automated response with no help. I work in legal services so use LinkedIn for a lot of networking and was trying to organise a huge networking event through LinkedIn which would have created a lot of traffic for the website when this happened. I have found numerous online message boards where many people have had the exact same issue and in the end have asked LinkedIn to close their account so that they can use another website for networking because it drove them crazy. It is perplexing for an app to not have an automatic quick fix for something like this I n 2025.
Lack of compatibility with older iOS
OrdinaryTechLady
Disappointed that the decision has been made to effectively brick the app on anything earlier than iOS13. My iPad doesn’t update higher than 12.x but is perfectly functional. I can see the latest timeline has loaded in the background. I also understand the push to stop supporting old tech, I work in the industry and have done for 20+ years. I live the pain of legacy versions every day. However, you could take the route of retaining access via the app with the warning that as you develop some features will either stop working or be unstable. Most users would accept this, it’s not a life critical app, it’s effectively social media. The experience on your mobile app through the browser is less intuitive, less friendly and actually just painful. Perhaps you could improve that UX instead if you’re pushing people down that route. You should do that before removing access to the good UX. In an age of focus on sustainability and discouraging throw away culture it is perhaps time to reappraise abandoning users because they are not on the latest kit. Those people may be on older kit for the right reasons. If it isn’t broken why would I consign it to the bin?
We want you to have the best possible LinkedIn experience. This update contains bug fixes and improvements to ensure the app’s continued speed and reliability.
