Taxi to airport 5:45

Assan arrived on time and was extremely helpful loading our luggage, one of which was a bicycle in a carry bag, for which he moved the seats to accommodate. He was very pleasant and made the early start more enjoyable. We wanted to tip him but we had no cash and he couldn’t add to the amount on the card machine as the fare was pre-set. He really was an excellent taxi driver.

Great for a taxi bad for GDPR

This app doesn’t allow you to opt out of receiving marketing notifications from them (in breach of GDPR) I emailed the company and got the reply “ When you download apps notifications do come through. The way you can stop this is to go on your settings on your phone and select the app and turn off notifications. You can always turn this back on when booking a taxi.

I can confirm it is not illegal to send promotions etc through an app that you have chosen to download. We are sorry to hear you do not want to know when promotions are on. We send the promos to notify our customers when we have good deals on our app just to keep them informed.

I’m afraid that isn’t quite the law. And i want my notifications on for when i order a taxi i don’t want constant spam marketing ones from you several times a week tho.

I replied advising how she is wrong with 1. The app stores rules on marketing in notifications and 2. GDPR law and referred the case to the ICO and Apple to look into. Maybe instead of ignoring your complaints your add a little ‘opt in/out’ option for marketing material via electronic notification.

And reply to complaints emails too. One reply out of three emails doesn’t exactly show you are a reliable taxi company. Thing is. You are usually. Just bad management of customer data unfortunately.

Poor service

I booked a taxi early this morning for 3:20pm because I was picking my daughter up from school. The job was not sent to a driver until 3:20. It was accepted and the driver was 8 minutes away. Once that time had elapsed I rang the office. The automated message then said the driver was 20 mins away. I then spoke to an operator who resent the job and the driver was still 15 minutes away. We ended up getting picked up 30 minutes after the time I requested. As a regular and repeat customer this is absolutely unacceptable. Me and my 5 year old daughter were left stood in the cold. It’s one thing having me stood in the cold but leaving a child stood there is really not fair on her. I expect a full refund or my next journey to be free or I will have to stop using lynx and find a different company to use. When speaking to the operator I wasn’t even offered an apology.
