Superb service so far.

I’ve just opened my account and have had two very positive experiences so far. The first was after opening the account, I linked it to my FreeAgent account. FreeAgent recognised me straight away and because I’ve just paid my subscription for this year, told me I would get a refund. That was Saturday, Monday morning I had a notification saying that £146 had been paid into my account for the remaining 11 months of the subscription - Monday Win!!The other positive was after phoning this morning with an issue that had reared its head after trying to update my debit debit with the HMRC, the person who dealt with me (Billie) couldn’t have been more helpful and got my issue sorted out very quickly. The only thing stopping me closing my old business account now is the lack of being able to send and receive international payments. Hopefully, this is something that Mettle are working on.I’m looking forward to a great relationship with Mettle.

Love it - made my business banking so much easier and has lots of tools on a platform that makes sense! Haven’t used the invoicing features yet, I already have a system and can’t be bothered to look at changing it. So, the bad parts that keep this App ‘Just Great’ (1) no way ‘at all’ to pay in Cheques, once or twice a year I need to pay one in, but when you find you can’t it’s a massive ball ache (the costomer is 80 and hasn’t got internet banking) don’t understand why I can’t do it at a NatWest counter? .. (2) not able to use Apple Pay, just really annoying! (3) Can’t add a ‘Trading As’ name to the account. I have two lines of work Media and Electrical and would like to invoice as ***** Media or ***** Electrical. My last bank did it not sure why Mettle can’t let me be ***** Media Trading as **** Electrical? 3 small things but all very annoying when trying to run a business 🤔

I really like the ease of use of the app, which was recommended to me by my accountant so it can work with FreeAgent accounting software.As someone who also does travel business outside of the UK, the fact that Mettle is linked to NatWest helps for some expenses that vendors don’t accept online banks for (unfortunately). Their customer service is pretty efficient and reactive too.My only wish, hence a missing star, would be to be able to have multiple saving pots with higher interest rates. It’s only possible to have one savings pot on Mettle, and the interest rate is very low. It means that my previous attempt of having multiple pots for multiple uses (various taxes) meant that I was missing out on interest. Now everything is in the one savings pot which blurs the visibility of what money is mine and which one is the taxman’s, and that’s a shame.

As far as I know Mettle is the only bank that offers that feature for free on business account for free and it’s the main reason I stay.
