Useful but can be improved

I like the sync between phone and PC plus general layout and way of breaking down notebooks (prefer the desktop application when working on PC). On the iPhone app snapping a photo of a document direct into OneNote is very handy.
However I really, really want a way to lock the position of containers relative to each other as currently things can so easily get accidentally moved around and that leaves me nervous and takes away any benefit to making notes over the top of something else like a screen shot, diagram or picture.

Also would like to see text and table formatting improved so they get closer to simplified versions of Word and Excel. For example it is a bit slow to Embed Excel docs but the OneNote table features are just a bit too clunky compared even to a very basic spreadsheet so I find too often I end up wanting to go back to Excel for things that naturally would live with notes. Not for massive spreadsheets or complex calculations but with data entry and editing that more closely matches Excel when used for making lists and comparison tables.

Microsoft has abandoned OneNote

It's with a heavy heart that I have finally decided to give up on OneNote, similar to how the developers have done so these pasts 2 years. What was once a staple piece of software for any note taking enthusiast, is now an abandoned tool with countless issues and no sign of any of them being fixed or any essential features being implemented. The app has issues, such as a second delay between when you tap and when the application decides to listen to your input, tables that were created on pc glitching on mobile, and sync issues. I have reported several bugs, and none of them have been fixed months later. Why? Because Microsoft decided to kill the only and only place where you could submit feedback (uservoice). Not only does this mean literal application breaking bugs do not get fixed anymore (even though Microsoft pushes an update every month with nothing apparent new), but no new user requested features has been acknowledged and implemented. In the past 2 years, there have only been two new features. Dark mode, and a pride month theme. 2 years for just 2 themes bug fixes which aren't noticeable. Meanwhile note taking competitors have utilised those 700+ days to add new features, content, and greatly enhance their user experience. With the release of a new alternative that I will not name, I have decided to jump ship and take my notes to a platform where they will receive love and have a bigger future than OneNote will ever have.

Why so slow

Using an iPad10.5 Pro, after upgrading from an iPad Air2 I expected Onenote to accelerate. O accept it may well be my fault but as an archivist and researcher I search and records numerous subjects. Subsequently this has grown to at least 50 different notebooks. Every opportunity to record a note or link I relied Onenote to be there when needed. Each notebook relates to a specific subject and sometimes data is cross-linked to another analytic reference.
As with the former iPad Air, things began to slow down and before long after spending time online I would want to place a link and comment in an associated notebook. This became unusable as I was forced to wait whilst some feature (I assume checking for any updates) took forever. I the end I was forced to restart. I can't understand why such a delay occurs. Surely validating in real-time would eliminate any need for this cycle and the working page should be instantly available. It may be my fault even if I was using 100 notebooks it is difficult to comprehend why functionality stops, after all the number of notes must not be a factor, therefore the current page is the only relevant issue. I watch as each notebook is processed. unnecessary agony denies a simple update with wasting any time. The only other issue may be transient memory but using the browser and Onenote alone, the problem remains. (e&eo accepted)
