The MyChildAtSchool app is a great way to stay in touch with my child's school. I can see their attendance and achievements. The app is easy to use and has a user-friendly interface. I can also communicate with their teachers and school staff through messages and notifications. I can view and download reports and other documents.The only improvement I would like is to be able to open PDF files in landscape mode. Sometimes they are too small to read in portrait mode and I have to zoom in and scroll around. It would be easier if I could rotate the screen and view them in landscape mode.Overall, I think the MyChildAtSchool app is a good app for parents who want to monitor and support their child's learning. It has many useful features and functions that make it convenient and enjoyable to use. I would recommend it to other parents.

This is a very good app which allows me to keep track of my children’s school lives. However, there are a couple of things which make it a little frustrating to use that really could be better. Almost every single time I get a message from school and I read it, the app still shows that it is unread. The unread notification can stay there for days, when it should update itself immediately. I go in and out of the app and the messages and it still doesn’t go away. The other thing that would the make the app more user-friendly and bring it into 2023, is to allow the function to work if you turn your phone horizontally. The communication letters from school (which can be in very small print) would be much easier to read by having this function, instead of me having to zoom in with my fingers and slide the letters back and forth to read. Minor issues I know, as the app is really beneficial and allows us parents to keep track and view a lot of things to do with school in one place, but these points would make it much easier to use and more user-friendly. I am getting to grips with the app as my daughter has just started at a school that uses it. I like the app and find it fairly easy to make my way around. I like all the information that is available in one place. It is a little frustrating that I have to download and save the PDF letters that school send in the messages. It would be great if we could open them straight up. Having said that, I am getting in a rhythm of saving then opening them in files. The one thing I could do with is a notification when there are messages or other activity on the app. At the moment I am periodically checking the app to see if school have posted any messages etc. it would be great if we could be notified of any activity, please.

The app is ok and provides useful information but it is very frustrating that when teachers upload and there are coloured banners for both child and teacher completion. As a parent I’m only interested in the pupil completion (especially as the teacher completion is never completed before the deadline) so the ‘not completed’ teacher banner is unhelpful and too overt. Also it has dates but not days and children find having days in addition to dates really helpful. The school report that they have informed the company of these bugs and suggested improvements bugs but I have not seen these get fixed so far. I have found no way of suggesting improvements directly on the app. A disappointing app from a parent perspective compared to similar products on the market.
