Description
Peninsular War Battles is the latest strategy game from Hunted Cow Studios, placing the player at the forefront of Napoleon's campaign to conquer Portugal and Spain. Play is possible as the British, French or Spanish across 5 campaigns with a total of 40 missions. Peninsular War Battles is the most advanced wargame from Hunted Cow yet!
The missions represent well researched representation of the major battles of the period with a full range of tactical options available to all the commanders. There are 64 different combat units, each in an accurate depiction of the uniforms, colours and flags of the period.
The in-depth game systems allows infantry units to form line, column or square while light infantry units may skirmish in open order. Victory in most battles will go to the commander most able to utilize the combined arms benefits of infantry, cavalry and artillery to the best effect.

About time...
I am not a great person for writing reviews, so please forgive me a little.
This games working on the old fashioned way of gaming, where it is turn based and you have hex’s to move your people around. Anyone who used to do war board gaming will knwo what it is like. I have for a very long time hoped that a company would bring a game out like this. In the pasted I used to play a gmae called Steel Panthers on the PC may years ago that was a little like this (just a different time in history). So the fact that Hunted Cow Studio’s have now started to bring out these sort of games is GREAT! A number of games like this has been brought out for the iphone and ipad, but very little for the iMac till now.
As for the game it self, as you will read in the description, it is based in the Napoleonic times. To learn the game is very easy, but to finish is very hard! Infact I think this is the hardest game they have brought out yet! All the same it is good. You can play the French or the English (A little bit harder). Each time that you play, it will end a little bit different, so that is a big plus that you can keep on playing when you have finished it. There is only one thing that is missing from this game (and the others they do)… that is there is no sand box to play. I can see that it may not work on the the likes of iPads and iPhones, but on the mac it would be great! It would be niceto be able to do a short fight or a long fight. Or make a fight your self. Failing that, bring out another game where you can sand box a campaign? Just an idea.
All the same, this is a great game if you are like me and you used to like the old school turn based board games. I just hope that they carry on bring out more of there games to the mac.
