Now, the post office application has been very useful, as one can top up money whilst travelling as well as check ones balance on the travel money card. In conclusion, lastly, I found the travel money card particularly useful on 16th November 2019, evening time as one can search for useful tips and questions that one maybe concerned about before travelling, during and after travel, and for me, I found this application extremely useful, as there was information I needed to know before my travel, such as the currency of the country I am travelling to, and where to obtain the currency of the country I am travelling to shortly. Moreover, I thank the developers for making this useful, and appropriate travel application as I believe it is a safe as well as secure method of travelling with money, to the country of ones choice instead of carrying loads of cash around in different currencies, and risking theft issues or lost issues. Also, I found the help and advice section on the website useful, as I had forgotten my PIN number as I never used my travel money card for a while, and I was able to call up a number from the travel money website, and follow the on phone instructions to retrieve my PIN number once again. Dreadful new App not working for 3 days now

Rang customer services 3 days ago now as newly downloaded App top up button gives an error that it can’t fetch the rates right now so have to go on main website to do that. Then when you use the card it doesn’t update the balance. It retrieve the pin either. The card was then unsupported in an ATM when I tried doing a balance enquiry. Different information from service staff who told me I needed to load another £50 minimum on card and buy something using chip and pin to use card for for first time. However that’s £3 commission just to load on £50 of your own money ! I don’t even need sterling on the card as the whole point is for using it abroad to TRAVEL!! So I had already bought Euros. The lady in the post office said I can’t use the card at all for online purchases however I managed to pay for my holiday eventually over the phone in euros once they had removed the security 3 times! A smarter assistant also said I don’t need to add sterling to buy something in U.K. - the euros will auto convert- which they did. Still stuck with a non working app and took 3 hours to finally get the card loaded and working to pay for holiday. Agh. Why so complicated

Apple Wallet function does not work - known issue?

I have the Post Office Travel Card App loaded to my iPhone 15 Pro. While most functions work as indicated by the Post Office, the key feature of adding the Travel Card to Apple Pay Wallet does not work. This is regardless of whether trying to add by simply clicking on the Apple Wallet Icon within the ‘manage your card’ area within the app or by trying to manually enter the card details in the Apple Wallet App itself as you can normally do with other cards. I called the Post Office travel card team today and their agent advised that there is a known issue with the Apple App that is being reviewed with Apple to find a solution. I can use the card and monies loaded by going online but wanted the key ability to tap and pay when abroad to use in shops, restaurants, rail stations etc. I received a reply from the Post Office app developer today 21 Feb saying the issue was an area of focus. Good to here but it would be more helpful if the Post Office travel card app website and related areas clearly reported the issue and helped others facing the same weakness in the app. I hope to see the issue fully resolved in coming days so that the full capabilities including apple wallet as still advertised on the web and in the app can be actually used.UPDATE: a courtesy update and thanks to the Post Office Apple developer teams. As of today 22nd Feb 24, I now have the travel card loaded to my Apple Wallet. On the off-chance I went into the app again today and the manage card section. I clicked on the wallet icon as tried many times before but this time the process in full quickly work and with accepting the conductions page a quick confirmation message that the card was loaded to my wallet proved to be true when doing the double-click on the right hand button on my phone. I have not amended my star rating though as I want to see how transactions with the card and wallet actually pan out next month.

Worst experience I’ve had with any company, ever. My card was due to come within 3-5 working days, came in 10 days, after I’d already left. Called them multiple times and went in branch but there was nothing they could do to expedite the process. I was told to get a new card and then I could transfer the money over easily on the app, while abroad. I had to pay £50 to open the new card, and then I still couldn’t transfer it over. Needed a call from me, in Thailand, which cost another £5 to get sorted. Meanwhile my girlfriend went in store to get her card, after the online application said extra security checks were required and she needed to show her ID. The post office then issued her a card, and advised her to email the post office with a picture of her ID. This then wasn’t cleared through security for another week, despite her titling the email as urgent, as recommended, to get this cleared within 24hrs. When I eventually had the money I had trouble withdrawing it from ATMs, and the card has been temperamental at best, working at some ATMs and not at others. After topping the card up the money still wasn’t in the account a day later (even though it said it was on the app, and the PO website said it would be in the account within 2hrs), this ended in me being stranded 5kms from my hotel with no money. This issue has still not been sorted, and is unlikely to get sorted before we leave Thailand, as enquiries are usually responded to within ‘5 working days’. Even when you can withdraw from ATMs you get charged 220 Thai baht (about £6, but to be fair this is the same charge to all cards), and when topping up the card you get an exchange rate that’s worse than what the ATMs are offering, so it’s not worth the hassle anyway?Absolute rubbish, avoid at all costs.

The only point i can address without seeing your account is that we do not control ATMs but the ATM finder on our app should direct you to the nearest machine that will accept your card. Once again, please accept our apologies that it has proven difficult to use our card on this occasion.
