Welcome to Santander Pilot! Being part of this pilot is voluntary. If you’d like to take part, you’ll get to try out the design and features of our new app early. You can give us feedback to help us make the app better for you!

By downloading the app, you’re agreeing to be part of Santander Pilot. It’s a work in progress so not everything is available yet. You can continue to use the existing Santander Mobile Banking app, so please don’t delete this. We’ll be adding more features and enhancements during the pilot. In this version you’ll be able to:
• Choose image themes and your preferred name for the welcome screen
• See your preferred text size reflected in-app
• Try out the new payments hub, designed to make payments and transfers easier
• Double tap the Santander logo in-app to try discreet mode
• Give feedback anytime using the ‘help us improve’ side menu option


This app uses essential cookies to help make the app operational (e.g., cookies that save customised user preferences). We’ll also track non-essential cookies (e.g., cookies left by analytics tools such as Google or Adobe Analytics).

• You can still use the Santander Mobile Banking app during the pilot
• Although this is a pilot, it is a live app and transactions made are real
• You'll need a smartphone with a minimum operating system of iOS 13 (above iPhone 6s) to take part
• If you wish to stop taking part in the pilot, you can delete the pilot app.
• During the pilot, not all accessibility features will be available at the beginning. We’ll be adding them over the coming months.
• New payees may take up to 24 hours to show up on the Mobile Banking app.

Important:
• Never share a One Time Passcode (OTP) with another person. Not even a Santander employee.
• Never download software or let anyone log on to your computer or devices remotely following or during a cold call.
• Never enter your Online Banking details after clicking on a link in an email or text message.


You'll need your existing Personal ID (PID) and Security Number. For a reminder of your PID type 'Forgotten Personal ID' in 'Chat with Sandi' in the existing Mobile app. If you need your security number, go to www.santander.co.uk, click 'log on' and click on ‘forgotten details?’

When you give feedback, please don't share any personal information. This includes passwords, account, or card numbers, contact details or other security information. Use the in-app ‘Help us improve’ menu option to send your feedback.

Awesome so far!

This upgrade is long overdue. Excellent so far; loving how I can change my greeting name from my formal name, and that we can FINALLY see our card details in app for those moments that you leave your wallet out in the car. Also appreciate that it’s not immediately logging me out after leaving the app, and gives a few minutes grace if you need to find ID or other details etc. Lots of welcome changes. Thank you! 🙏

Why did I bother

I don’t normally bother with reviews but felt the need to warn others on this one. Used the pilot to give it a go a couple of months ago and dip in and out to look at the general improvements. Updated to the latest version yesterday. After 18 months of being with the bank, today it’s asking again for Id document to confirm id, (didn’t have on me), now I’m locked out of mobile banking till I get the new temporary password letter to reset all my security credentials that I really didn’t need to do, having not had it previously compromised. And two days before the weekend, with Royal Mail as it is, I’ll be lucky to get it in 6-7 days as opposed to the 4-5 days the bank quotes. Really helpful, not! Very unimpressed. As for the functionality of the app, slow, clunky, develop the app then release, don’t push for people to trial in the mainstream till it is nearer to being ready. Also, features missing on both the old and the new. Previous apps I’ve used have basic functions like a balance after bills showing balance after regular DD and S/O’s, not just the balance including pending. Also, why is it like 4 times the size in space taken up in memory on the phone at the point of download for something with less functionality than the old one which let’s face it, worked, and worked well in the most basic of forms. Opportunity missed to put yourself at a similar level to other mainstream banks on the technology front?

Poor

Obviously not designed for use on iPad in landscape. Looks like this has been done to a budget/deadline and it’s getting close on both so it’s been released and will be updated/enhanced as and when. There is whole raft of things needed like notifications for payments in or out, less screens when logging on ( original app does not have a ‘continue’ box when logging in), get rid of the personalisation screen option or have a blank choice, none of the pages are appealing. Why do businesses feel the need to ‘change’ what’s working well to something that’s cobbled together and never improve on what’s already there. People are becoming more reliant on online and mobile banking given the change in high street banking hours so make it work properly for us, listen and act.
