Scala Radio

Scala Radio is the best new station I’ve been fortunate to tune into. I love the vast variety of music which surely must hold something for everyone. I know it has completely revitalised my musical tastebuds and I switch on every morning with nothing short of glee at the thought of what I may hear and I haven’t been disappointed yet.
The presenter are excellent and down to earth and the chance to take part in the show is an added bonus.
Great prizes in the competitions too. I particularly like the imaginary one that Charles Nove offers for answering his questions of the day .
All in all, well done Scala. I’m in for the long haul.

A wonderful addition to the genre

Scala Radio has been extremely well thought out to fill a gap in the market where it might have seemed that one did not exist. The range of music played is much wider than found on its competitor stations. The presenters are able to talk about much more than just telling you what you have just heard or are about to listen to. Although only a young station, it has a level of maturity that makes me feel very comfortable and want to stay and enjoy its company. I’ve been a listener since the beginning and during that time it has grown and developed and just keeps getting better and better. The advent of Scala Radio Premium, where you are able to listen advert free for a small monthly fee, with access to a huge range of other classical stations, together with other stations from the Bauer stable, has really set it apart from its main competitor. This also gives the facility of skipping tracks if there’s something which doesn’t quite fit your mood or taste. I would have given 5 stars rather than 4, but unfortunately when using this app to AirPlay to my Apple HomePod mini, there are still issues with the sound dropping out for no particular reason. This can occur when trying to use my iPad for something else too. If this issue could be addressed to my satisfaction, I would be more than happy to move up to 5 stars.

Good overall app, but could do with improvements with accessibility and content

The app is good overall and I am making use of the premium facility so that I don’t have to listen to the adverts. However, I think the app could be improved for visually impaired people if all the buttons had labels on them rather than having images only, which is the case with some of the buttons in the app. Also, it would be nice if premium listeners could see what music is playing during advert breaks
