Secure Controls 4+

I’ve been using this app for a couple of years. Functionality is basic but works. However in recent months the App simply refuses to connect either in the home or via WiFi out of the home. Only way to wake up the App is to manually wake up wall controller by pressing a button on the unit so the LCD on the wall controller shows current settings. Around 10 mins later the App starts working. It seems like once the wall controller goes into standby mode, the App disconnects! Disappointing, it is sold as a premium industry standard but App interface is not great at all.

Well developers of a water heating device. Why have you created such a simple switch that’s good, but sadly such a basic app control that is dreadful? Having said that the back box is rubbish, why make something 2 different colours? First the display on an iPhone does not show the boost countdown correctly - Why? Second, connecting from app to switch can be lengthy, why so long for such a basic setup? Third, more important I have 3 of these switches, but when wanting to turn on a boost for example, I have no idea which is which!! WHY not do something simple and include an edit button to make each device reconcilable???? Simples! I’m m not daft enough to know you will not listen or take note, but going give it a go.

Well you wonderful developers, you have in fact added a name identification change option! Yep to the right of the notification bell there SHOULD be a settings gear, BUT on the iPhone 11 that CANNOT be seen!! That gear icon also gives access to the Wi-Fi connection, BUT if you cannot see the gear I cannot use the app for Wi-Fi, BRILLIANT work!!! I would suggest you check all phones to confirm what works and what doesn’t. Poor app why release such an app if you cannot see the icon?

I like parts of the app and it’s use but it needs tweaks for sure. What disappoints me most is I wrote into the company in 2021 making a simple suggestion of reducing minimum of one hour on timer on hot water – A simple timer or reduced bands starting at 10 minutes would be perfect and more environmentally friendly than a whole hour, by giving users the opportunity to personalise it to meet own needs. I was told they will look at the feedback, but clearly nothing has changed when it surely is a simple tweak?

Also, it’s very unreliable… January 2024. Can’t get into the app. There is no update for it. There is no Apple update but still communication can’t be established. I log out of the app I go back in it wants me to re-register the whole system. Then following the app, the instructions say tap on the PTD, but the PTD says comms error, it’s basically a nonsense and truthfully they need to look at Hive in order to see how the real market can do it instead of this Mickey Mouse approach
