Created for those who want to stop smoking for good, the NHS Quit Smoking app is a 28 day programme that puts practical support, encouragement, and tailored clinical advice in the palm of your hand.

The evidence suggests you are 5 times more likely to quit for good if you stay smoke free for 28 days, with this in mind we will help you on your own personal journey to quit.

We’ll be with you every step of the way, helping you achieve your target, picking you up if you stumble, and celebrating your successes for 28 days and beyond!

Every week we will provide a guide broken down into manageable chunks, giving you missions to complete and timely, useful advice.

Every October you can join thousands of people quitting via Stoptober, join the national quit attempt this year!

I have only just downloaded this app and I am already enjoying the benefits of it, don’t get me wrong I have tried many times & failed however I did manage 4 years off the smoking & after putting my cigarette money faithfully in a jar which could only be smashed to get my money out I actually paid for a new leather suite after only 8 months so that alone kept me going, however with family issues I stupidly started again but now that I have this app I can check it everyday to see my progress. I think this app along with strong willpower will push me on through which is one of the hardest things to give up. I’m 48 now & have a grandson so I want to be able to enjoy him & be as healthy & wealthy as I can be. All I can do is do my best so fingers crossed this app is going to help me along with my journey.........🙏🙏

Given up smoking

I stop smoking on Friday the 1st Oct I can’t say that I’ve not been climbing the walls I have but I’m going to keep going as long as I can hopefully forever I stopped last year for 3 months don’t sound like much it was agony then a friend called in I hadn’t seen in over a year offered me one and I succumbed but I live on my own so that helps because least there no one around me smoking but went out yesterday and I could smell some smoke and it’s like the bisto advert where the fumes in the air were wafting around me but I did not get tempted thank god anyway back to the grindstone and keep going good luck to everyone trying to give up like me.😱

Support in your pocket

After 20 years of smoking I had finally decided I needed to stop smoking.
I ordered patches (to wear daily for at least the first month) and a vape (for emergency use only). I thought I might as well download this app too as it was free.
I loved the daily check ins, keeping me accountable, and the health updates, motivational messages etc. It really all kept me on track. The latest app update with the game like snakes is also a real hero for when a craving kicks in and you need to distract yourself for a few minutes.
Now I’ve not had a single cigarette in over 3 months. Would recommend!
