Genuinely useful insights

I try a lot of these types of apps, despite never really getting much benefit out of them. Most don’t support my main bank account, and Snoop doesn’t either, but I’ve got my Amex connected so it tracks a fair portion of my spending.

While it does offer to do the usual “switch your energy” stuff, the other tips are way beyond what I’ve seen elsewhere. Offers based on the card I have, vouchers for places I shop, apps that I might like, etc. The best thing I can compare it to is MoneySavingExpert’s weekly newsletter, except tailored to me. Genuinely useful in a way that no app in its category is.

Edit: in response to the question, my bank is Triodos, who support Open Banking but have too small a customer base for most to bother integrating with - I also saw they were last in your customer survey!

Thank you Sawyer.

Sorry to hear we can't connect to your main bank. We're adding new connections regularly, and we'd love to know who it is we're missing. Some banks (like Metro and Co-Op) currently don't have secure open banking APIs which means we can't make a secure connection to them. But we hope they add that support in the future.

Love that you're loving our Snoop feed. We drop in new money saving tips every day so keep popping back for more. All the best - Everyone at Snoop HQ

Great App Easy to Use

Snoop team have done a great job making this app colourful and meaningful. You can see all your spending across various bank accounts and summarise your transactions through categories. The only thing I would say, perhaps as a future development opportunity, is to allow users to create their own categories for transactional grouping and to group transactions on a broader criteria rather. For instance grouping a transaction with description “ABC 1234” to internal transfers is fine, but if I have next month transaction “ABC 1235” that is similar, I have to manually recategorise it again. Other than that, really really cool! 🙂

Developer Response ,

Thanks for sharing your feedback, we really appreciate the 5* rating and your comments are super helpful. Custom categories are something we're asked for and it's on the roadmap to be added very soon! Keep an eye out for that and more details of what's coming. On Transaction grouping in the app - all of your payments are grouped by a 'merchant' and that merchant will drive the category. Your payments named "ABC 1234" and "ABC 1235" provided they go to the same place should become linked. We'd love t take a look at this for you though so if you want to drop us a line via hello@snoop.pp we'll get it checked for you. All the best - Everyone at Snoop HQ

Very useful.

I use Snoop almost daily. It is very useful to check balances and transactions on credit cards and current and savings accounts. I use it on both my iPad and phone. It would be better if it remembered both devices instead of treating the one not used the previous time as a new device, asking for my phone number and then sending a warning email each time I switch device even though I am flipping between the same two devices. Surely lots of people use an iPad as well as a phone, or use two different phones. The app does not support my main credit card, John Lewis, which is unfortunate, but it does support every other card that I use.

Developer Response ,

Thanks for the feedback, we have a few customers who are using Snoop on several devices and we've been doing some thinking on how to make that easier for everyone - whilst still keeping the app and your data secure. With regards to John Lewis, we'd love to be able to connect to them, but sadly they don't provide a secure open banking API. So I'd raise that with them if you'd like it in Snoop as we'd love to be able to connect to it (or maybe consider a different credit card). All the best - Everyone at Snoop HQ
