Service has seriously deteriorated
I think the quality of the service has gotten really bad of late. Too many people making offers and no follow through. This shouldn’t be allowed continue. They also won’t investigate individual cases for people that have received bad feedback from people that have broken the rules or who actually did wrong to you and then left bad feedback. This is unethical to those of us that have been loyal customers over the years. They say it must be “abusive”, but someone leaving a slanderous comment that has no truth is deformation of character! I feel very let down that they can’t even review on a case to case basis. But across the board there does not appear to be any policing on what’s going on. I’ve had about 10 offers over the last week and 1 person actually turned up! If they tightened the rules this would be less of a problem.
Disappointed buyer
When I tried to reset my password my history, including feedback, was deleted. When I contacted Adverts customer service they were unhelpful. I also encounter a seller who was unhelpful and obstructive. I placed a bid for a 20 euro tea cosy ( full price, collection only). Because I had no feedback and a blank profile ( whatever that is, I am a registered user!) he refused to let me collect within 2 days of making the offer. Quite an obnoxious seller. How sinister could I have been? I just wanted to buy a 20 euro tea cosy. I have always honoured my accepted bids. Not inclined to use adverts again.
Generally good but phantom buyers block you
Only problem is that phantom buyers seemingly only there to waste time make bids then block you before you can leave them negative feedback for not following through and ceasinf communication for no reason. Have also been blocked by a buyer for no reason when I wanted to but an item. The site admin would not take action to ask if they blocked me by accident. They losta customer in me and may not know it. Really annoying because the item I wanted is still unsold months later, but I have no way to contact the seller.
