I am quite happy with words. But I lack some knowledge, after all these years….a out combining two stories under one title for inst. I have a number of very old stories under “ let’s” before word was here. I would like to combine all my titles. Of course I do have them in I cloud and 1 cloud. I am not an expert and 92 years=old , my patience is thin ! So bear with me !
OK but a lot of desktop Word features I use are missing

I’ve just started using it this week so still on a learning curve. It’s is very handy for some light work but I need my laptop for any serious work. I hope that they will improve on it in time. After using it for a while I’ve found out a few things but still it’s a far cry from the Windows desktop app on a Windows laptop. It means that for serious work in both Word and Excel I have to use the browser version of Word and Excel which is such a pity. Let us have the full desktop features, as a 365 subscriber I’m paying for a full featured app but am not getting it.
Unsuited for academic writing

This is not suited for students writing long essays and dissertations where you will obviously need to reference, cross-reference, insert different types of items into the document, all of which Word for iPad doesn’t allow (which is pretty dumb, to be honest, considering you pay the exact same amount of money for it’s full version in a MacBook). When I switch between Reader and Word when I’m writing an essay, the Word invariably crashes and starts again. I don’t understand why they cannot just give the full-option Word in iPad, because it is a basic application which all students need and use.

On the iPad word defaults your file to be saved on the Microsoft cloud as against apples iCloud. As a result files name and locations get jumbled up and you end up opening versions of which you think is a Version you have been working on, but it’s not the right file. In this way I have lost four figure hours of work.The file search and file information on the iPad for the Microsoft clout is almost none existent and thus is almost useless. Finally, word on iPad, as far as I can see, has no brush or other way to copy and past format or to compress cropped pictures.
