it just dosent make sense to me how the old app is better then the new one why bother making a whole new app when it’s gonna be so much worse, the old one wasn’t perfect but it was a ten times better then the new one it’s so confusing and difficult to use i can only imagine an elderly person trying to use it public transport in this country is a joke and apps like this really just sum up the whole entire thing and then you have Eamonn Ryan telling us to get public transport how am i supposed to get public transport when 1 the buses are almost always late or just don’t show up 2 apps like this tfi live that make it humanly impossible to find out when there’s supposed to be a bus of course people are just gonna be forced to get cars because u just can’t rely on public transport you’d really have to wonder where all our taxes go to things like this are why so many young people are leaving the country just sick to death of these half arsed schemes by the government to make it look like there doing something

Update as of May 2023: tried to use this app for a month now with little success. AS IF PUBLIC TRANSPORT WERE NOT BAD ENOUGH IN THIS COUNTRY. THE PEOPLE THAT WORKED ON THIS APP SHOULD BE FIRED IMMEDIATELY, HOW CAN SOMEONE RELEASE THIS INCREDIBLY BAD APP TO THE PUBLIC AND KEEP THEIR JOB IS BEYOND ME!I keep updating my review because the more I try to use this app the more shocked I get about how bad it is. Like I cannot believe that actual humans that are supposedly qualified to do their jobs came up with this app. It’s incredibly not user friendly and I cannot even imagine a person who is not tech savvy or who has accessibility requirements trying to navigate this. The old app was so much better, basic but it just gave you the info that you need to know. I have been spending 30 minutes trying to simply check what buses stop at the bus stop where I am and there is no simple and quick way to do this. How can an app be this bad? It’s shocking. One star is too much, literally the worst app I have ever used in my life.

The Dublin Bus app was simple, direct, easy to use and very easy to customise to your own regular journeys and your own screen-viewing habits. I even liked the font! So it had to go. Instead we have this absurdly complex, data-heavy monstrosity. I can just imagine the IT gobdaws who designed this at work; I’d say they had plenty of vision and strategy and design meetings about this with all the Innovation managers in TFI, man-buns and ponytails left, right and centre, dismissing the old app with smug, patronising smirks while utterly and completely ignoring the actual customers trying to quickly find the quickest way into work or home. All at the tax-payers expense of course. The human race will not be wiped out or replaced by AI or robot uprisings, we will be irritated to death by the condescending software gobaloons who design garbage like this app. Would it have been so difficult to leave the working app in place and go work on reducing emissions or more security for the passengers and indeed drivers? Apparently so.
