eRupee by SBI 4+

App installed ok on IPhone. It doesn’t integrate with Apple Pay. So not much use. Unlike gpay there is an extra step to add money to wallet and transfer to mobile number only works with erupee registered users. Doesn’t work even if recipients are registered on PhonePe. So nothing new in this app. Get Apple Pay to work and this will be a huge hit.

For first time app registration, location access is required which is reasonable. However, app is asking device location for every login which is unnecessary. If device location is disabled in Settings, “eRupee by SBI” app in my iPhone does not allow anything to be done, I can not even to see the digital rupee wallet balance if I disable location access. Why is it that “eRupee by SBI” app alone is asking location access while opening app for every transaction when other banks / app such as ICICI bank iMobile app, “Digital Rupee by ICICI” app, NPCI BHIM app and even SBI’s own YONO app do not ask for location while making merchant payments in iOS device. SBI is unnecessarily complicating this requirement in its eRupee app. Pls disable location access requirement when opening eRupee app every time.

Waited patiently to register on my iPhone 6S Plus. Loaded ₹2,000. Already made a couple of merchant payments in the local market. Smooth flow. No different from YONO or BHIM which I was using earlier. Next milestone for ERUPEE BY SBI should be to introduce NO PIN FOR PAYMENTS LESS THAN ₹500 and FINGERPRINT PAYMENTS. I have lost the habit of typing 6 digits on YONO and BHIM both of which give this facility. Seems too boring. Overall great initiative. Hearty Congratulations to RBI, NPCI & SBI. Keep going ahead. You have the best wishes and blessings of citizens like me.
