Great old web site
I have watched your web site for 12 years since I got my first I.pad. I enjoy finding out what is happening around New Zealand. But, I now don't get notified about all of the earthquakes in a day, which I miss. Maybe I have not pushed all the right buttons, but I have checked a couple of times and I can't see what I have missed, so if it is that perhaps you could make it easier, for everyone, even an old lady like me. Thanks for the opportunity to tell you my problems.
Volcanic & Quake updates
Information about geological events in NZ especially living in the Taupo volcanic zone we read everything Geo Net comes through on my iPhone
That 5.9 earth quake that happened near Te Kaha
at about 5.30 am recently, all our wooden venetian blinds banged in the window frames, I didn’t get up up, later in the day I read quake alert, resized it was an earthquake, we live in Rotorua westside under Mt Ngongotaha.
I am very interested in all information we get from Geo Net. Thank you!
I love this app! A quake happens and it’s pretty much up on GeoNet within a minute or so, and then you can see people reporting on it almost in real time. It’s incredible really, I don’t know how they do it!
It’s also somehow comforting to have the GeoNet app by your side when you’re living on the ‘Shaky Isles’... Quakes can be quite scary at times, so I am actually quite grateful to have such an accurate, informative, reassuring app like this to refer to straight after a quake. Thanks GeoNet!
