I learned to like Paymaya because of its cash back reward programs and the ability to use it for online purchases with the convenience of being able to fund it real-time at any 7/11 store and from my BPI Savings. I could even borrow a small sum of money from it with little interest. I thought it was the best I’ve ever had until I had an issue with an ATM withdrawal. I made two withdrawal attempts because the first transaction was cancelled. The first transaction still debited and didn’t reverse and I ended up with a negative balance. I then couldn’t use the remaining funds. So I called PayMaya and I was told that it would take two business days to research the issue and resolve. And so I waited. When on the third business day I still had the negative balance I called again and to my utter disappointment I was told that I had to wait again because apparently what I thought was a case being researched was actually a waiting time for the transaction to reverse. I asked to speak to a Supervisor who told me that I had to wait another week. I couldn’t believe it. This is my money; money I needed to use and because of some fault not of my own I completely lost access to. PayMaya couldn’t do anything to make the funds available. **I received the reversal on the account on the 9th business day.** I had been using the app since 2016 and I never had an issue. That was the very first time I had to reach out to Customer service only to be treated like a joke. I might continue to use its services but I NO LONGER TRUST that my money is in good hands with PayMaya. I once considered to use it as a reservoir for cash flow but I have changed my mind. PayMaya is a great product but with terrible customer experience

They removed the option to Add Money using BDO a few months ago. Tried to upgrade my account since it was the only way to enable adding money via debit card. Application got denied even though I sent a photo of my UMID, debit card, and a video or my own freaking face. Tried to email about it and got no response after three months. Followed up on messenger and they basically told me to just check their website. Checked again and was relieved to see that they had an option again to add money using BDO mobile. But when I tried to follow the instructions, the options indicated on the app were not available on BDO mobile. Tried to call and it took forever to connect to someone. Eventually was told to use BDO Online Banking. Tried it and still did not have the options listed in the instructions. Had to call again. I asked for instructions on how to add money using BDO mobile and the rep told me to upgrade my account to use the debit card feature. I asked again how to add money using *BDO mobile* and the rep told me to do over-the-counter. I asked for a manager and she put me on hold forever to tell me there’s no one available. I asked again for instructions on how to add money using *BDO mobile* and was told to use the “form on the app”. Later found out she was referring again to the add money via debit card feature which is not available to me. It baffles me to no end that don’t have instructions on how to add money using their add money partners—which is one of the main features of their stupid app.

I really love this app(Paymaya before) and was a fan of this app since 2018 until I got scammed. I even encouraged my friends to try this app because of its features like the free service charges on online payments. Total of 25k of my wallet and savings account was transferred to the crypto Dogecoin. Tried selling the Dogecoin to get my money back but I can’t even input the amount. It wasn’t clicking at all. Tried calling the hotline, I was already talking to the CSR but I was really dissapointed with their solution. The transaction was a success so they cannot do anything to revert it. They told me they can temporary block my account and change number so that I can still use the card that I availed. Tried requesting change number to the site they gave me but it got declined twice due to information unverified whatsoever. I had to create another account and buy another card. It was so traumatizing, to think that the money you earned from hard work will vanish just like that. Still skeptical to use the app for paying online payments. Had to use another mobile banking app to pay with a small service charge. Please Maya, fix your mess. The others that got scammed also but more severe cases (Maya Credit) than I encounted. Thankfully I didn’t activate my Maya Credit at all.
