Not great

Lately they started sending notifications informing us of our spending habits.

For example, right after I pay for a birthday gift I get a notification that my spending is higher than usual. A while after I switched from Grab to Deliveroo for food delivery I got a message that my spendings on food went up by 100% (I’m sure what I appear to spend on rose sharing went down by the same amount 😂). And today I got a notification that based on past transactions, Netflix will probably charge me $20 next week.

These notifications are really, really dumb and I wish it was possible to disable them.

Time Stamp Security Concern and App no notification after delete and install

Notification set up for sound and badge. App no push notification no sound no badge alert no banner after delete and reinstall. Open app can approve online sign in. Erased my iPhone and set up as new phone, Still no notification. Seems like this app will provide no push notification if you delete and reinstall. Before I deleted and reinstalled, it was working fine on this same iPhone. Can something be done at SCB’s end?

I changed date to 3 days into the future. I was able to set up Mobile Key and used it to approve sign in online. Although app still no push notification, it approved the sign in. Is this a security concern? The time on my iPhone differs from actual current time and surely also differs from bank server’s time, why did app allowed me to still set up Mobile Key and use it approve online sign in?

Need improvement

1) As a frequent flyer, I need to activate my card for overseas usage very often during the time of travel. However, it’s a hassle each time for user to key in every card details every time they need to request it via app transferred website. Should have all the user cards listed in the app and user just select their card and dates will do. This is what other banks provide and it’s really user friendly

2) currently the balance and due dates are not updated fast enough. For example due on 2 Oct. now is 6 Oct, system still showing old details and even though balance all paid earlier, it was not shown in the summary page and still show old outstanding amount & due date.

Hope standard chartered bank can improve on these.
