Less headache when dealing with cash while overseas

This card offer the convenience for you when you’re not having enough cash while overseas. Topping up the card is super easy using the app. Gone are those days where you’re not completely sure how much should you exchange your hard cash before your trip or even bringing extra Singapore dollars as doing that is probably adding potential risk of getting rob or whatnot. Not to mention, changing currency overseas is a fair bit of work where you might end up having less of what you should get due to commission fees(especially in Europe).

A pretty good example would be my recent trip to southern part of South Korea. It was slightly uneventful where I was rushed to the local hospital for food poisoning and had completely no cash with me. Luckily with YouTrip, I was able make payment instantly just like using credit card but of course without having charged for foreign transaction fee by banks, saving me a few dollars. 💸

Highly recommended for everyone to have YouTrip even if when you’re not traveling anytime. Great to have these on standby.

Processing Time is too long

TLDR; better to opt for another remittance service if you are urgent. Processing time takes more than 1 month instead of the advertised 7-12 days. Will update the exact ETA once I got the card. They also don’t provide any form of update for your application status. 1 out of 10.

Applied for YouTrip service on 4th of March. Within the app, it is stated that the processing time will take 7-12 working days, but since then I have never gotten any updates in any form. Called the customer service twice, and they said they will urge the internal team to be faster, but to this date, I still didn’t receive any kind of communication or follow up calls regarding on the application status and I have no clues on when my card is going to arrive. Checked on other reviews, and it seems like it is a chronic problem that has been happening to a lot of the users. This implies that YouTrip doesn’t seem to focus on this issue and the customers can only pray that one day the card will miraculously appear in their mailbox.

Understand that the processing time might take longer than expected, but falsely advertising and overestimating your ETA by such a huge margin without any form of update despite 2 times of calling your customer service is not right. I could have applied for another similar remittance service had I known it will take more than 1 month for the application to be feedback to me as I have an upcoming trip in 10 days.

Change the ATM withdrawal fee back to $5 per withdrawal, not 2% of the withdrawl amount

Update (Sept 2023): I want to give YouTrip a 1-star rating again but noticed I already did. I am giving another 1-star rating because they refused to assist when I asked if they can manually register the friend that I referred to YouTrip, because the referral link I sent her did not work.

I use YouTrip for receiving money a lot, and it’s been very useful to me. I referred plenty of friends to YouTrip so that they can pay me easily too, and it’s the best card for travellers as you can conveniently pay at any place that accepts credit cards, and they offer the best exchange rates too. I would have given it 5 stars if not for one thing. They recently changed their ATM withdrawal fees from $5 per withdrawal to having the first $400 in a month being able to be withdrawn for free, and charging a 2% fee on subsequent amounts. This is a huge blow for people like me, who would withdraw as much as $10,000 at a time, with my fees going from $5 per withdrawal to $200 a withdrawal. I would rather they make it such that the first $400 per calendar month is free, and a $5 per withdrawal fee will be charged subsequently, or just go back to the old system and charge a $5 fee per withdrawal. I will not change my rating until they address this and change their ATM withdrawal fee system.
