Widgets Get an Upgrade

Notifications and widgets come together in Big Sur.

macOS Big Sur brings a new look to Notification Center, combining alerts and widgets in a single view for key information at a glance.

To see all your notifications, organized by app, click the date or time in the menu bar—or swipe left from the right edge of your trackpad with two fingers. Interactive notifications let you reply to an email or get more info about event invitations.

Scroll down for widgets that display the current weather, your upcoming calendar events and reminders, new podcast episodes, a Screen Time summary, and more.

Third-party apps can add widgets to Notification Center too, providing quick access to essential features and details.

All your notifications and widgets, in one convenient view.

To add a widget, download its app, then open Notification Center and click the Edit Widgets button at the bottom.

Find the widget you want to add, choose a size, and drag it into your Notification Center list. To rearrange your widgets, just drag them where you want.
