I started using this app in 2017, and I tell everyone about this app. Thanks to this app and my spare change, I might actually pay off my loan by the start of the new year! (A great way to start 2021 since 2020 sucked.) And for reference, I finished college in 2002. It takes time for money to transfer, but be patient and watch your bank account. I was impressed that when I contacted the developers asking about my first $100 transfer, I quickly received a personal response with an explanation on how it can take about seven days. Right now, my only “complaint” is that after an update a few years ago, my data seemed to stop showing my “interested saved” and time saved details. While that is not as important as knowing that my money is safe, I like knowing those little details as it gives me a sense of accomplishment. I don’t want to delete and download again to see if that fixes anything, but if you got any suggestions, I’m will to hear them. Overall, you won’t regret using this app to save you money in the long term on your student loans.*** Edit: As soon as I posted, the developers reached out to offer help with my “complaint”. Again, amazing app with support staff. You will not regret using this to help save you money!

I have been using Changed since their premiere on Sharktank. It has made a huge impact on reducing my debt worry and hassle-free. The freeze time was a bit stressful of course not knowing where my money went/ was stuck at. But the communication during the freeze was excellent, while there wasn’t much said usually, it was nice to know the users weren’t forgotten about. Days after the “it’s been resolved” notification went out I received a check for the amount of my “missing” money, it was a smooth process. I have continued to use this app now that it is back up and running and plan to continue to do so as long as it’s functioning. I have made so many extra payments on my debts including student loans/mortgage/credit card/auto loans, all painless and without any thought from me. Excellent experience all around.

They had some issues with their servicer that tied up customers’ funds for months - and still many have not received their money back. This is not “refunds” for cancelled services, this is money their app withdraws to supposedly pay down your debts. I tried to cancel this service last year in May, they told me that the account would be cancelled and I would receive the funds, however then these issues started with the bank they use to hold customers’ money. So customers received “status updates” about ongoing discussions, meetings, and court proceedings all while our money just sits somewhere. I have a long “support” email chain about all this and my cancelled account - but then today saw that they’ve started up again and pulled money from my checking again and have “extended” my membership - which I cancelled in May.Do not, I repeat DO NOT, work with this app or company. Their UX is slick, the app looks great - but their customer service is absolutely awful. Their response to the issues that happened with the banks they were working with has been delusional. And there is no way to get anyone on the phone. There are other apps out there that do the same thing, try one of those.

We know how upsetting it was to have your funds tied up and to feel like your cancellation wasn’t handled the way it should have been. The Synapse/Evolve issue has since been fully resolved and all funds were returned to members earlier this year. We’ve also made improvements to support and account management so members can reach us more easily and manage their accounts with clarity. I was so excited to use this app.. I set up my account very quickly and should have read the reviews. First issue was it did not find my student loans immediately, but I decided I’d just use it for my car loan. Then the app crashed a few times and I had to go through all the steps multiple times before it was completely setup. THEN, I went back and read reviews about people’s money being held and not being able to be accessed. I chickened out and tried to cancel everything, only to find out you can only cancel your subscripted after the support team has REVIEWED your request. I got an email saying my request was under review and they would get back to me. That was four days ago and still haven’t heard back. They have already made a withdraw from my account - and when I went to login to see if the money was there I was just given a screen saying my account was under review. I couldn’t see anything. So I guess I will just sit here and wait for them to respond…? Very strange that you have to be approved to cancel your subscription. Hopefully my bank can block the payments.

All impacted funds were returned, and we’ve moved forward with a new banking partner to help avoid situations like that in the future.Regarding cancellations: accounts go through a quick review process to ensure everything is closed out properly, especially if there are any pending transactions.
