An honest app that will take you on a guided self discovery journey to improve your mental health, overcome anxieties, and slow your brain down a bit.
This here, then, is a safe place for you to be honest and get in touch with yourself again, for too often we allow ourselves to be agitated by everything around us and too rarely do we pause to help our mind catch up.
It's time to slow down, spend some time thinking about our lives and try to learn from our own experiences. What better way then to simply engage in a conversation with your future and past self?
Perspective is a unique journaling experience that captures your thoughts, moods, and interests over time and prompts reflection and insight to help you make personal discoveries and learn about yourself.
We hope it'll help you make better decisions in your life, allow you to better manage your anxieties and those moments when you feel low. We hope it'll help you rediscover yourself and fall in love again with the awesome person that you are.
We started out with this big idea that we want to help people, we want to add our small contribution to making the world just a little bit better. And for that, this app absolutely needed to be completely free. It's tricky, it makes it so much harder to find the time to improve it, but some of the feedback we've got from people telling us it's made their life better... it's worth it. We're not gonna be the #1 app in the store, we're not gonna be the best app out there, just because we don't have the resources to do so. But we're honest in our intentions and we think it's vital that not only the people who can pay should have access to a tool that could potentially improve their mental health. That being said, though, all our users have iPhones... so, that might not be the best logic. Regardless, it's free just because it's the right thing to do.
We hope you enjoy it.
I absolutely love this app! I don’t even know where to begin. This app has so many wonderful features. I love the discover portion of this app where it tells you little ways to make your journaling experience more useful and things like that. I also love that you can add insights when you go back through your journal, and I really like that you can add regular entries to past days if you accidentally miss one. One of my favorite features is a button you can press that will pull up a small prompt that helps you think a bit more deeply about your day. I like this because you don’t have to focus your whole entire day on the prompt, but for me it helps focus on one particular thing that made my day good or something that I might need to improve on to help my days become better. But I think my favorite thing of all is the kindness of the developers. I’ve tried so many journaling apps that are great, but give you the bare minimum and then ask for reoccurring fee to unlock everything. I understand that they need to make money, but I’m just at a place in my life where now where I can’t afford that. So what I appreciate about this app is that you can use absolutely everything in it FOR FREE! It gives you options to support the developers, which I have been happy to do. It’s so much easier (for me at least) to give my money to them when they are so willing to create this free content for us to help anyone who needs it. Thank you so much to the developers of this app! I’ve only been using it for a few days, but it has already exceeded my expectations!
A perspective on Perspective

I am new to journaling. It has been suggested to me by friends and family over the years, but I thought it would be a waste of time. I was wrong. For me, very wrong. The application certainly has many features that paper doesn’t. I won’t waste your time there. What I will share is how easy and intuitive the many features are. I quickly type into my fingerprint locked journal throughout the day. Some thoughts good, so not so much. The ability to append pics to entries is gaining importance for me. The “Insights” feature which allows you to comment on previous days entries is easy to use and emotionally powerful. I have enjoyed the simple uplifting push notifications that wish you a good day or celebrate the day you just had. The application is stand alone, so no data leaves your device unless you want it to. That’s refreshing. Although they don’t require payment for Perspective, I decided to pay $50. I would have spent almost that on paper, binder, etc. and would have never used them. This application I use constantly. As an aside, for those out there that are in some form of professional counseling, reading my journal aloud to my therapist was very helpful to me and my counselor. You don’t need to be crazy to use this app. But you might be crazy not to.
ALMOST my favorite app!!

I downloaded this app back in 2019 after trying maybe a dozen other apps first; but this one really nails a lot of things for me, like an easy to use UI that make seeing how my days went super easy, interests I can checkmark on each day I give attention, built-in questions to be even more mindful of my life, I could go on. However, the app went online for (I think) almost over a year, and it devastated me to lose 6 years worth of my journal entries. I’m more than happy now that it’s back, and I’d absolutely keep writing in it now if it weren’t for a few factors:Namely, the app doesn’t get updated anymore as far as I can tell, so the new features you can vote on to have added (or even donate for) will likely never come. The developers haven’t updated anything on the official social media since coming back this year, which worries me that the app might go offline again; maybe for good next time. And lastly, there may not be enough other people downloading the app for the developers to justify continued effort on this app, even if I personally love it. If anything, I’d gladly pay a one time fee if it meant the app gets continued support, but I’m not sure there’s enough people like me out there. In essence; great app. I love it. I wish it got more updates and community engagement/support so I can sleep knowing that my years of entries won’t be missing the next morning.
Been using Perspective for 2 years and still get a lot out of it.

Perspective is aptly named, because it really does allow you to keep things in perspective. I’ve been using it for two years snd it gets more helpful the longer you use it. It’s so easy to see how I felt about my days, weeks, months, and years at a glance for the last couple of years. I can quickly find out why I was having a good day or a bad day (or week). This is very helpful whether I am in a good mood or a bad mood. The positive feedback stimulates a feeling of gratitude. And when I’m feeling anxious, stressed, or depressed this app helps me restore some perspective and some hope. I can find entries from the past when I experienced the same stress or anxiety and see that I was in a much happier state a day or a week later. I can also see that overall I have a lot more good days and weeks than bad ones. That’s a great thing to see in the app when I’m feeling down. I have used other mood tracking and journaling apps in the past. The mood tracking apps I previously tried generated a lot of data, but Perspective makes it much easier to get something out of that data. It’s simple to use and demands little time. Some days I write a bit about what I did and how I felt. Other days I just rate without details. My good days are full of photos from fun activities or beautiful sunsets. I do try to write perspective entries about why I rated a week the way I did. These entries can be the most helpful later on.I can’t recommend this app highly enough. After two years, it’s one of the most useful and meaningful apps on my phone. As I look back over the last year at the end of 2020, I will raise a pint to Horea and Elliot for developing Perspective. Happy New Year guys!
