Teachers are having problems with glitches and difficulty adding in comments and photos compared to the previous system we used. The app is flooded with pics and vids of other messages and basically junk. I’d they want to post it for the few parents who want enrichment ideas then make it a separate tab that doesn’t block the space I want to use to see and read about my kid during the day. The audio for videos doesn’t work in the app. I can only play it through the video on my email. I can’t easily download videos. I have to go through the emails instead. I can’t comment on specific pics or vids. I don’t get notifications for when a teacher or director messages me back. My settings are set to allow all notifications. The end of day report has a daily schedule listed with a morning activity recommendation, how is that useful if I get it at night time? I’ve only been using this app for a month and dreading the change due to the poor reviews. The school must have gotten a sweet money deal to make the decision to switch over from a highly rated app to this sad one. Shameful
Developer Response
Hello, thank you for your comments and requests. We apologize for any frustration you have experienced in the TS Family app. The best place to look for information specific to your own child would be in the Daily Report, which is shared by the teacher and clickable right below the Welcome video on the home screen. If you are still having any issues, please contact our customer support team at support@teachingstrategies.com or +1 800-637-3652 (Option 4). We are always interested in finding better ways to help our customers benefit from engaging with their children's learning experience and would love to hear more about how we can do better.
Zero stars

If I could give this app no stars I would. We use it only because the school chose it so there’s no other option. For starters, why is the home page cluttered like a social media app? Why is it suggesting games, videos, and giving me parenting tips? I don’t care. Then, why is there a whole library of low quality e books that you can barely see (if they even open)? Come on dev team, get real. Nobody is using those. Then, why is every daily report, photo, and school memo all lumped into one “memories” section only sorted by chronological order? I mean good grief at the very least separate out the useful information. The reports are the only reason any parent uses an app like this but to find them you have to comb through all the nonsense. I don’t even bother with the app unless I have to send a message to the teachers, otherwise the reports get emailed to me and I just see them there.
Disappointing

As a teacher, I’m extremely disappointed that I can’t use the app as well. I have to be logged in to the website to see or send messages. I don’t have time during the school day to keep logging into the website, so I miss messages from my parents. I would much rather have push messages sent to my phone through an app so I could quickly check them. If I want to send pictures to my parents, I have to take the picture, mail it to myself, download it to the computer, then upload it to the site. And I can only send one picture per message. It’s far too time consuming. I would also like a stream where I can see a list of messages sent to the whole class. It’s too time consuming to check each child’s list individually. If my district didn’t make me use this app, I would be using ClassDojo. It’s so much more user friendly.
Can I give 0??

This app is horrible. I’m stuck with it because the daycare has it but I can’t even message the teachers in the infant room - they actually said they either are not allowed or can’t!! What is the point??Other than the other glitches mentioned in other reviews, I have an infant and I want to see what is happening throughout the day. But I can’t get a report until the day is over and I pick him up, only to find out he didn’t eat lunch and is hungry. Or I go to pick him up and he’s asleep!!! The daycare used to have a sensible app that updated throughout the day… so you can see if he’s awake, has eaten, been changed etc. For a toddler I wouldn’t mind so much but for a baby, I need to know. I wish they would switch back to the other app.
A new version of the Teaching Strategies Family app is now available. Families at Centers who use SmartTeach and Tadpoles will now see Gold Documentation shared by their child’s teacher to the Daily Report.
