Boatsetter is the only boating platform I trust. Other companies are not fully protecting the renter during the booking. Knowing I have insurance coverage for liabilities while I am on the boat during the rental period makes the day less stressful. I also like how they roll the full price into the total including the captain. When I book a captained boat, it's nice to know up front the cost, even though I will be paying the captain seperately at the dock. I can't wait to get back out on the water!! Yay for using other people's boats!

I rented a boat from a captain Nick on June 23rd ,2024 from 4:30-6:30pm. The first thing is he advertised a boat that holds 12 people and has a bathroom and small kitchen area for the guest. I paid over $500 for a boat that will fit everyone and the messages between the captain and I needed the bigger boat that holds more than 8 people which is why i rented the bigger boat that he has. When my guest and I arrived to the docking station the captain had an entirely different boat for us that only holds 5 people. There was not enough seating, no kitchen area, no bathroom there was no way to make things right. I ended up turning everyone away and having to figure out something else to do with our time being that we all traveled a hour or more to enjoy this day. He tried to argue with me and my guest and did not try to accommodate us for for any inconveniences he caused to us knowing I booked a bigger boat. Online you can see on his listing where he posts photos of a bathroom & kitchen area on the boat but then he pulled up on a boat that holds only 5 people no bathroom or enough seating .

I recently had an unfortunate experience with Boatsetter, leading to an unjust deactivation of my listing. Despite my consistent efforts to maintain timely and effective communication with potential renters, I was cited for several incidents of alleged unresponsiveness last year. I believe this to be a misunderstanding, as I have always prioritized clear and prompt communication.After this experience and considering my needs for flexibility in communication and more reasonable service charges, I decided to move my listings to another leading boat renting app. This platform offers a better fit for my requirements, allowing for easier interaction with potential customers and at a cheaper rate.It’s disappointing to have to leave a review like this, as my initial interactions with Boatsetter were positive. However, I felt it necessary to share my experience to provide feedback on the areas where the platform could improve, particularly in terms of flexibility and understanding towards its users.

Even I am ok for getting things better for owners .They feel like we are exploiting their boat . I got a boat . The experience was good BUT after issues with it is pretty bad. If they have an issue with us using their boats they always have our numbers and mails which they use to contact frequently at time of booking but if something they feel as odd they directly post offensive reviews about us in the account. If there is something we did there is always a security deposit you got hold of or to ask. Instead of reaching us about the issue the owner Dennis J started to accuse me of exploiting his property which is so hurting. It’s just that I forgot to mention about the parking issue at dock because of personal reasons and I’m not aware of rest even happened . I just got off today.I am completely happy for getting things better for him and correcting my mistakes. But he thinks that i exploited his property. As I’m just a message or call call away from him it would have been much better if he tried to ask about the issue to find if we are doing things wantedly or by mistake.I wish things and after effects can be resolved in a much better manner than accusing and hurting people.We want things to be better on both ends. Always happy to correct accidental mistakes if done any But blaming without even reaching back even after holding deposit is something so much hurting .It took away all the pleasant experience with the way they write about me . Management would have dealt it in a way it’s beneficial for both parties in a much better way than accusing unnecessarily.Thank you
