Bookmark favorite chargers or enable notifications for when an occupied charger becomes available. Discover not only AmpUp powered chargers, but also chargers from other networks. CHARGE WITH A QUICK SCAN Just scan the AmpUp QR code on the charger with the app’s QR reader to start your session in seconds. Or check into a charger reserved at a location in advance. Some locations require special access, which you can request from the charger’s host. PAY IN APP OR SCAN RFID Pay using a credit card or with a card in your phone’s wallet. Save your payment method so you can charge quickly and easily on any of AmpUp’s thousands of chargers. You can also link your existing RFID card or badge - or request a new AmpUp RFID card - to swipe and charge quickly without your phone. COMMUNITY POWERED Each charger host sets the prices and policies for their chargers. AmpUp makes the policies and pricing transparent for drivers, so you can see what charging speed you’re getting and what you are paying per minute or kWh of charging. REMOTELY MONITOR AND GET NOTIFICATIONS See how your charge is progressing right on your phone. Get notified when your session is done. Know exactly what you’re paying and how many kWh you have added to your vehicle. See charging session history and receipts. PRICES AND FEES Hosts set their own prices and policies, and AmpUp handles payments on their behalf. Decent App but Physical Charger doesn’t always work

The App is good but not always easy to understand. Showing a day of charging makes no sense and initially threw me off as needing to pay a day worth of charging. Other charging app design is just how long and how much. The App should also have an ability where you can alert faulty charge points. In my building there are six charging points. I know one that never works. No to speak with to alert that chargers are not working. Good work.

Honestly, this is the worst app I’ve ever used. It was so hard figuring out how to charge the car in the first place, but that was just the beginning. Hours after unplugging my car and ending my charging session in the app, AmpUp starts sending me notifications saying I’m being charged idlying fees. One hour, $9. Three hours, $30, etc. I am obviously panicking (as my car is in my driveway at home and I see no end to these fees racking up), so I call customer service. The customer service voicemail for drivers says, “There is no one here to take your call” and hangs up. I continue getting these crazy notifications, even though I can see clearly in the app that my charging sessions have ended hours ago. Ultimately, the app never charged me the idlying fees, and the notifications stopped. But I’ve never quite been so stressed and panicked by an app notification in my life! I even drove back to the charger to try and figure out what was going on — ultimately depleting the entire original charge I paid for. Honestly, I’ve never written a negative review about an app in my life (who has the time??) but this was an outrageous experience.

You’re supposed to drive up to the parking spot, scan the thing, then plug in the car, and then you’re good. All the other apps manage to get that right. Every second of using this app is torture. It signs you out of your account every time you open it. You can’t sign back in with Google because a Google account already exists (so just let me sign with googles authenticator?????) so you gotta go back into their impossible to use interface and try and sign in there but you don’t know if it’s the Google password or if you set an AmpUp password like a year ago and don’t remember. Make sure you get it within the first three (3) tries because if not they’ll lock your account for three (3) hours. Because these extreme hackers really would care about cracking into my AmpUp account so they can spend a way too large amount of my money on electricity, the same stuff that lightning and hamsters in wheels make for FREE. Anyways I had more of a point but I forgot it, this app is evil, do not use it

I was charged over $400 in fees even after I had already clicked “Stop Charging” in the AmpUp app. My session was finished, my vehicle had stopped receiving power, and I ended the charge manually, yet the system kept billing me for hours as if it were still running.This is not user error; it’s a major flaw in the app’s software or billing system. When a customer ends a session, the system should stop charging immediately. Instead, AmpUp’s platform quietly continues to accumulate idle fees, and there’s no warning or confirmation screen to alert users that the session didn’t actually stop.Charging customers for services after they have explicitly stopped the session is UNACCEPTABLE and feels like STEALING MONEY from people’s pockets. It’s deeply unethical to let this kind of bug or system failure persist, especially when it results in hundreds of dollars in unjustified charges.

In a very small number of sessions, the charger does not communicate the stop, leading to these instances. We are always available if you have questions at support@ampup.io but referring to the session should be able to easily identify the missing session stop and you will be refunded.
