Supersense is the smartest and simplest scanner app made for the blind and visually impaired users to read any text format, currency or product details from a barcode independently. With the power of AI, Supersense automatically figures out what you are trying to scan, guides you on how to point the camera, and reads the content in the right format. Its unique design minimizes the time and frustrations of scanning and reading text for a blind and visually impaired user. Full features of Supersense: - Smart Scanner: The app automatically detects whether you are trying to quickly read a piece of text, a long document, a currency or a barcode. - Smart Guidance: The app guides you on how to point the camera and finds the best angle to have the most accurate results - Quick Read: Instantly read the text presented in front of the rear camera - Document: Read longer documents with the assistance of smart guidance. Once the text has been recognized, use VoiceOver commands to navigate through the recognized text and share it to other apps. - Multipage Scanning: Scan documents with multiple pages simultaneously and navigate through the text. - Currency: Recognize currencies and hear the value of a banknote - Barcode: Scan barcodes to hear the name and brand of the products with additional information - Object Explorer and Find: Scan your physical environment and hear about the objects that are around. - Import: Read and explore text from the images and PDF files. Also you can send them directly from any other apps with using "Recognize with Supersense" tool in your share menu. - Read History: Displays your recognition history in a single screen. Most features work without an internet connection so that the blind or visually impaired user can use it in any situation. If you would like unlimited access, we have created subscription plans. - Monthly Subscription: $4.99 - Yearly Subscription: $49.99 - Lifetime Subscription: $99.99 These subscription plans help us to continuously develop new features to provide immense value to the blind and the visually impaired. If you choose to purchase a subscription, the payment will be charged to iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. All subscription plans automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. A reasonable price at $49, unpalatable at $99.

A good app and it’s priced for $49. It does a lot of the things that it’s competition does but in some aspects it does them better. I found the barcode section of the app very usable especially in grocery stores. I had to uninstall and reinstall the app once but it seems to be working like a charm. The app is quick fast and intuitive I have run it on an iPhone XS max as well as an iPhone 12 pro. Maybe as the developer said the state will reimburse me for the price of the app. I could not get myself to pull the trigger for $99, it was just too much money but because of the holiday sale I purchased it for $49. We will see if the price is worth it if the developers keep iterating on the app with new improvements. I know they’re free apps out there that do the same but I’m from the old-school, you get what you pay for. The best feature that this app or anyone can come out with is that the app would be able to read a touchscreen display such as on a laundry machine or vending machine, that’s the function everybody wants. I think a company that can make it happened will excite the entire visually impaired community.

Supersense is a great all in one tool for accessing many features in one app. My phone screen is scattered with various blindness apps to help me do something or another. An app for reading money, an app for just quickly reading something I found, another app for quickly importing and reading a picture from the share sheet, ETC. this app is nice in the sense that it combines these all together limiting my array of apps I juggle around on a daily bases. Probably my favorite and most used feature is how the scanned text is displayed. Instead of your traditional screen where it just reads you the hole page of text, and you have to switch to line navigation or something similar if you want to read individual parts. They break the text into blocks, and it is super fluent to read the exact parts you need. Not only that, but you can copy these blocks of text easily to your clipboard via the roader.Now, one thing I see people are concerned about is the price. It is subscription based. You can purchase a monthly, yearly, or a lifetime subscription. I don’t have much else to say on that, other than if you are worried about the price, you can download and try it out for free. Also, if you maybe don’t have the money to afford the app, at the bottom of the subscription signup page, you will find the following message.“You may qualify for a reimbursement for your subscription from a state organization. Tap to request assistance and we will reach out to you with additional information.”I am not exactly sure who all that would apply to, but it sounds like they are willing to work with you to get you any help you need. I think that is really great of them, and speaks very highly of them as a company.

Got the lifetime subscription for 50% off holiday sale, have been enjoying this app so far, given that my school blocks access to Seeing AI and most of the channels are restricted with Seeing AI, able to recognize multi page documents, wish it had a PDF OCR converter, but this app has extra perks such as currency and explore options, exploring options are referring to object recognition/identifiers, there’s also category specific look ups, you can select kitchen and start scanning and the camera will detect anything related to the category selected, The best function of this app is smart scanning, with this mode, all reading categories are selected, AI can detect what you’re trying to scan. but there are several issues with this app, when opening the menu button to go to subscription options and other options, the back buttons is not labeled with voiceover, also, when you try to purchase a second subscription on a different device, it will say you have already subscribed to this subscription, I don’t like the fact that it does not allow you to manually snap a document, everything is done automatically, wish there could be a manual picture mode for reading documents, but I do understand why the quick read functionality will not have a snap picture button, but I wish the document and multi document channels allow for manual picture scanning, also, Text that have previously been read should not be repeated when the phone is not held study, also, sometimes when scanning using the quick read channel, there seems to be a lot of gibberish when scanning small text such as the model number of the CD player, the way to fix it is to have a manual capture option because when I used voice dream scanner, there was not as much gibberish because you have the option to manually take pictures. And lastly, I suggest that the app should have multi language document scanning functionality for premium users

VoiceOver user.
I have used—and been very fond of—Supersense for a number of years. However, with the most recent update, the MultiPage feature isn’t working. It will take a picture of the first page, and will begin to process it; but, the process doesn’t finish, so it re-takes the picture of that page. Therefore, one cannot continue the process of scanning a MultiPage document, which is one of the main purposes for which I use the app. All other modes still appear to be working normally. Please fix!
