Good APY takes a long time on everything else

This is a great way to get a good savings rate!, it just takes such a long time for them to verify the transactions/ account transfers that it's very annoying. For example when I set up this account I put $750 directly into it and it took over a week to transfer from my main checking to here. I thought that was just a first time set up making sure everything wasn't fraudulent but now I've removed money from it and that was almost instant , or at least I was able to access it within 24 hours. Now most recently I planned and placed $250 into it on Friday and it has taken till Wednesday to pull from the account, but it isn't accessible from Laurel road yet. HOWEVER they do mention this in their terms and with each transfer, so I can't really be mad except I thought the money had already transferred out when I was budgeting, and it had not. So All of that to say I just wish the transfer speed was a little faster especially being an online bank.

Have used Laurel Road for a few years now and think it has good rewards to keep you as customer, and never run into any big issues. The app itself is a bit glitchy; it forces you to shut down the app and reopen it quite often to make it work right. Other than that it covers the basic needs pretty well!!

I’m coming from CapitalOne which has a very well-rounded app experience. One thing I love about it was that I could see my compounded interest at the end of every day, I could also see my APY, whereas, on Laurel Road, you cannot view your current APY nor do you have any idea of the interest amount you’ll be paid unless you calculate it yourself at the end of every day. When I click on my checking or savings account, sometimes the screen just remains white (as if it’s loading), however, it is not loading, you need to click on the screen anywhere, then it will finish loading. Also, CapitalOne doesn’t currently enforce a limit of how much you can withdraw from your savings per month, and with Laurel Road, I’m capped at 7, I believe. I move money around a lot so I do hope this isn’t an issue. In the end, I switched because of the higher APY, and the bank does just what I want it to, I just wish the app were a bit more polished.

Half Baked App for a Half Baked Bank

I got this bank for having great rates, no fees on most things that matter, and sign-up bonus. But my experience since getting this bank had made me regret choosing to go with a bank that has no reputation. They took around a week (sluggish by today’s standard) to get my debit card to me just for the card to not work half the time. At most retailers, I have to ask them to manually enter the card details or end up having to ask somebody else to purchase it for me and I could send them money on Venmo. With many other cards I’ve had across different iPhones, it takes seconds to verify my card for Apple Pay - Laurel Road makes you call. After 45 minutes on the phone with support, I left without a verification and a nearly useless debit card. Still waiting for them to get back to me.Maybe this bank could be better in the future. The entire app looks like something developed in 2009. Support is hardly offered. May be better off going with a big bank than having to deal with this.
