Updated to new version (6)Audio cues have gone wonky with this version. I’ve spent the last 2 days trying different setups and found:iPhone speakers + watch in iPhone/watch - YesBT headphones + watch in iPhone/watch - NoBT headphones + watch in Watch only - YesNormally I would lay the blame on my inexpensive BT headphones but they worked fine before the update and continue to work because music is piped through when the workout starts. This issue is app specific. Please investigate.Old review All in all, I love this app. I've been using it as my primary run tracker for a couple months now.Pros: great feedback. From in-run feedback to post-run data galore, this app has it. Apple Watch touch and go. Start the app from your watch then go when you want...it'll pick up when you need.Cons: Watch app hangs sometimes, not consistently. I'll be running and know the phone app is still running (music) but I'll tap the watch screen to check my stats and it is frozen.Personal peeves, not real cons: when starting a workout from the watch, I'd like to be able to select from a couple of defined runs instead of being stuck with the run that is selected on the phone app.I'd really like to start an open ended Ghost pacer run. No pre-determined time or distance, I just want to go out and run at a certain pace. I can work around this using an absurdly long run time or distance but that's not the same.Still, great app...well worth the money.
I WANT to love this app!

But right now it’s just barely cutting it. The watch + iPhone setting just does NOT work. The watch app in watch only mode works as expected. Any time I try to start the watch + iPhone (from the watch) it just displays no info on the watch and the iPhone app sits at the start run screen. Don’t cut and paste your standard check your settings faq either. I’ve checked them all. Smashrun... I love your website but you might want to consider a “ymmv” statement when recommending this app right now.Update: I got the watch and iPhone app working together by starting the outside runs from the phone NOT the watch as shown in the faq. However, treadmill plus this app = fail. It constantly repeats stats, goes to auto pause when auto pause is disabled and doesn’t record the pace or distance correctly on a treadmill. The watch is recording the correct info and can be seen in the watch records. It’s the app.. right now it’s working ok for outside runs and that’s it. I’ll still use it over Nike’s nightmare though. It sad that the Apple Watch is such a running tool failure.

I love this app for running. It does everything I could ask for in a running app. I started using ISmoothRun to get back into running after two decades of not running. I’ve been using it along GTN’s Couch to 5K program. I have the Nike IWatch and was looking for something useful from Nike in the couch to 5K running program and they had nothing. The ISmoothRun is awesome. Ever run I go on I can customize how many run/walk intervals I perform. The customization is endless. I really like the metronome feature. I have it set so it only plays during running sessions and stops during walks. I also use Pandora during my runs and while running it allows the music to still play in the background while the app it giving running queues and reporting on running pace. I so happy I found this app.
Great but only 50% of the time
polar no longer a friend
This app works so well when it works, but 50% of the time it does not do what it is supposed to to and I cannot predict on which day it will fail. I load my running program into training peaks and can view the workout on the app. I will select the app, make sure audio cues are turned on and then cross my fingers. It is so helpful doing sprints and progression runs when it works but horribly frustrating when for no reason it just ticks off the miles and does not reference the selected workout. I have tried everything from rebooting my phone before every run, making sure all of my apps are up to date, and even create small fake workouts to test it. Also, the design of the main screen is awkward. Seems with all of the capabilities of an iPhone a much clearer rendering of workout statistics is possible.
What's new in this release.
Fixed Support for RUNN treadmill Sensors
Fixed Font Sizes
Added Templates for 4 row metrics (1-1-1-1 and 1-2-2-2) for better screen utilization especially on AW Ultra
Added Fat Bike and Gravel Bike Activities
Updated "Activity Type" sync with Strava during Upload
Advanced Intervals: for distances less than 200 m, you can set distances in 10 meter intervals.
Minor Fixes
** Garmin uploads are not yet fixed and most probably GC support will be removed due to changes on the Garmin side.
What's new in v7.0.x
*Always On Display.
*Apple Watch Ultra Action button Supported
*"Do nothing" was added as an option for the actions of the AW buttons.
*"Walking power" is added in the Apple watch setup page. AW reports 0 W power when you walk and this can spoil your stats. By defining "walking power" the app will record this when you walk instead of 0.
*Another template is added with 5 metrics per page (1-2-2)
** Minimum WatchOS version required: 8.0
Version 7.0.10
