We have used the mobile app to make deposits for over a year and it was always flawless, but the last two times we have used it, we have received an error after submitting the deposit that an “endorsement can’t be detected” and to re-take the photo of the back of the check. We are a business and use an endorsement stamp. The first time several tries were necessary to get the check accepted, but today it won’t accept one of several checks regardless of how many times we try. The only difference is that this endorsement is at a slight angle but is very clear. We called the support number and were told to take the check to the branch for deposit. Something seems to have changed that makes the mobile deposit less forgiving. Although technically correct, we don’t consider getting in a car and driving to the branch to be “mobile deposit!”

If I could leave a negative number of stars, I would. Most of my reviews are positive reviews, but I will also warn people about businesses when needed. I’ve had over 20 credit cards in my lifetime. My credit score is excellent and I always pay off debit early. I’ve had nothing but poor experience with this company since I opened a card with them. My husband has as well. Ironically, we both set up autopay way in advance. His magically turned off so his first payment was late, and of course tried to charge him interest and a late fee. When he called to handle it, we spoke to the RUDEST customer service representative who spoke to us like we were criminals. I versed that day that my autopay was set up correctly so the same thing didn’t happen to me. It even indicated on my app that autopay was on and the exact day that the payment would pull. Guess what! The payment didn’t pull, and of course they tried to give me the same fees. It’s very clear to me that they have this scam set up to get fees and interest out of custom right off the bat. Again, 3 out of 4 of the customer service representatives we have spoken to have seven so rude and condescending. I don’t know how they keep their jobs. There’s more that I could say, but I’ll leave the rest to you if you want to give them a shot! No thanks! Canceling my card!

Easy to transfer money from Commerce checking to Commerce credit card, but don’t rely on this to give you an accurate account balance. In my experience, it has overstated my checking account balance virtually every night around 11 PM and for at least 3 hours thereafter. It must have something to do with their systems updating, because it seems like “pending” transactions from earlier in the day temporarily disappear, as if the transactions never occurred even though they were shown as “pending” earlier in the day; hence, it makes it look like you have more money than you do. It may work the other way around with deposits, but I haven’t noticed, as my typical deposit is a direct deposit from work at 2 AM once every two week. Anyone who isn’t vigilant about checking their account balance or balancing their checkbook daily (is that still a thing?) could easily overdraft because of this. Customer service admitted to me that the app “isn’t as accurate as online banking” when I called to discuss discrepancies between the app and my online statement (a payment transfer to my credit card from checking, which I had made a month prior, appeared on my online statement, but NOT in the app - they could give me no explanation why). With Commerce Bank’s shady history of rearranging the posting of customer transactions to intentionally cause more overdrafts (and thus, more fees to customers), I cant help but wonder if these inaccuracies are intentional as well or just bugs they haven’t worked out yet or aren’t in a hurry to fix. Ultimately, just be sure you know how much money you have instead of relying on this to tell you.

I’m Sad to say; I was offered an opportunity to come to yalls Bank from a few people. And when I explained how I was spoken to in the Branch one day, I was then told to call Customer Service. As I called customer Service, I was then told that they couldn’t proceed with a phone call because I couldn’t be verified. After they finally gave me to a manager, and I explained what had happened; he then proceeded to explain to me that they needed to verify me so they could see whom was lookkng in my account. After I then explained that NO ONE WENT INTO MY ACCOUNT, he suddenly felt obligated to assist me. So now I was treated rudely in the branch by a Branch Manager, and was now being treated rudely by a Customer Service Manager. This is Highly unacceptable. I don’t know how y’all do it here, but where I’m from, they have empathy and respect for fellow customers. As I emptied my accounts today in the branch, I was then asked again by an employee what my reasoning was for wanting the accounts closed. I then began to explain what had previously happened……. He politely nodded, and just said it pretty much happens. No apology, no…. Can one of our Managers st this Branch assist U, NOTHING!!!! Sorry, but this isn’t how I do business. Nor will I in the future.
