Transfer, or EBT, card. This card can be used as a debit card to purchase eligible food at authorized retail stores. The amount received from the government depends on each family's income.
SNAP recipients receive money to spend at supermarkets and grocery stores. SNAP benefits can be used for food products such as bread, cereal, fruits and vegetables. They do not cover alcohol or pet food.
