I had been using a smart bottle to track my hydration, but the problem is I don’t always drink water exclusively from the smart bottle. WaterMinder lets me track all my hydration whether it comes from water, or from something else. One aspect that initially confused me is that total ounces get logged to Apple Health and I felt this was inaccurate if using the app to track non-water drinks such as coffee or even alcohol. What I eventually learned though is that WaterMinder assigns a hydration impact to each drink type to more accurately reflect the actual hydration derived from the drink. For example drinking 8 oz of water logs 8 oz in health, but drinking 8 oz of alcohol does not log 8 oz in health. Ditto coffee and other drinks. The nice thing about this is that I can track what I’m actually drinking while having more realistic hydration levels reflected in Health. If I had one complaint, and it would be a very minor one, it would be to emphasize this hydration impact aspect during the onboarding flow.I also love the gamification aspect of WaterMinder, it’s a small thing, but a very motivating one. The sound effects are also fantastic, I love the variety of sounds available. I also love that the watch app allows me to track hydration directly on my watch. If you’re looking for an easy and fun way to track hydration whether from water or other sources, WaterMinder is a fantastic solution. Not only that, but effort seems to have gone into ensuring that the app is accessible meaning that it is usable by all users including those who may be using assistive technologies like VoiceOver. I’m very glad I discovered this app, definitely well worth the money.
Thank you so much for your feedback and using our app! Stay hydrated :)
