First Merchants Bank was the very first bank that I opened my checking account with, when I moved back home from Texas. My parents had use the Bank in Summitville IN their whole lives. The men and women who work at First Merchants are caring and always make you feel welcome. They also will go out of the way to make you feel pleasant and comfortable when visiting the bank. The are very helpful in explaining things if you are having problems! That I appreciate very much. I bought my first car through First Merchants. I would recommend them for anyone who is looking for a good bank to do Business with!I would like to say THANK YOU, for helping me through a difficult time, and giving helpful ways to straighten it all out! App has lots of bugs

Every time I open the app it is just a white screen. I have to force close the app to get it to go away. Once I do it clears my saved Face ID login and have to enter my password manually. Despite going through all the tips screens that appear every time I open the app, they come up after every login. I use the mobile app more than I go to the bank. If these bugs aren’t fixed soon, I will be moving my money to a bank that invests in their mobile app. Another reason to move would be to have contactless payment. Despite having Apple Pay setup, every time I go the grocery store and pay with my Debit Card connected Apple Watch, I have to enter my pin. FMB should also update all their ATMs with Apple Pay so customers don’t have to touch the screens.

Listen to your customers and employees

You really need to listen to your customers as they have said for a long time but in the running total balance on your screen app. There is another line that you could add the running balance in under the item as there is enough room under that item but the running balance like you can see on the online website. Please put that in and you can put it in a different color. This will help everyone understand where their balance really is after each item. Ask for for all five of employees and customers. Please add it to the APP!

Not a fan of Bill Pay so far

Coming from another bank so I have a comparison. FM Bill pay, maybe I’ve done it wrong. 1. Set up payees in BP part of the app. 2. Completed a request to pay the bill including amounts. 3. Hit submit button, error message directing me to a third party site. Chose my payee again 4. Got message that the amount was too large and BP would have to mail a check 5 to do that I had to re-enter the address on of the payee. 6 then the check would not be issued for a couple of days. 7 instructions on where to find the third party link were easier to follow on the laptop AFTER I got past step 3 instead of as soon as I went to BP. 8. Hoping after I pay each payee once, I will not have to jump all the hoops again and an ACH transfer can happen instead of a check being issued.
