I used the taxi service in Rome to request a car at 4:30am. I was worried about looking for a car so early on a Sunday morning so I booked the service the night before. I received a confirmation that a driver accepted the ride and felt better about it. The next morning about 15 min before the pick up time the app showed that the driver has canceled the ride. Fortunately I didn’t have to do anything. The app automatically looked for a new driver and a taxi came about a couple of minutes later than the original booking time. We could see on the map as the driver was approaching and the app showed his contact info. Our destination was the airport and the driver charged us the flat fee as shown on the original estimate and as advertised on all taxis. There was no overcharge for the driver getting to our address as I have seen so many people complain about. The driver was nice and courteous and the car and the ride itself were excellent. I highly recommend the service.
Poor service in London

I was in UK for business trip and booked my taxi via freenow at arrival. I wasn’t too much concerned by ordering by freenow before I experienced 2 forced cancellation in UK. Already user of freenow in France, I feel ok for its service. But by arriving in UK, I tried to book taxi, for two times… all failed… For the first time, the driver seems to stop somewhere nearby and waited for me to cancel the trip. I had to do so as I need to travel directly to my office that morning. And I re-booked another trip with them, this time the driver seems to come to pick me up, but after several exhausting conversation by calls, the driver couldn’t make it to come the the location I was, which is the exit of the saint pancras international station. Long waiting after about 3 quarters, I was so very much disappointed and suffered by this experience. After my business trip in UK, I contacted the customer service for these 2 forced cancellations that charged me 12 pounds, I got a 6-pound voucher valid during one month in UK, which doesn’t serve anything for me, as I only stayed in London for a week for business reason and complaints raised after this stay. Anyway, even though I were still there, don’t have any more confidence with free mnow drivers… So… wish you luck and be careful when you book in Uk…

I was taken advantage of by the taxi driver. Not super sure he was even a driver as there was no signage on his van. I paid 10€ for a cab from the airport to my hotel about a 8 minute drive. My flight back was at 6 am so I knew I needed a taxi and this app was my last hope. I scheduled the taxi the night before for 4:15 am and the driver came on time. When I got in I looked at his phone on the stand and he had not pressed the button that he had picked me up. I asked him in English and Spanish and he pretended he didn’t understand. I was thinking he was going to kidnap me. We did end up arriving at the airport and he still didn’t say he even picked me up on the app. All of a sudden he spoke English and demanded 40€ for a “night time fee”. I had no choice as this dude was twice my size. He pulls off and I get a notification from the app he canceled the taxi. This is SO dangerous on so many levels. I have a picture of his phone while I was in the van and a email confirmation for this trip. Of course I can’t report anything on the app because it says problems with previous rides and he canceled it so it’s as if it didn’t exist. If this guy would’ve done something to me there would be very minimal evidence as the app wipes the canceled trip. STAY FAR AWAY

The app the customer sees and the app the driver sees is sometimes off

We’ve used the app 17 times to get a taxi around London and 4 of those times the pickup point was wrong. That means a low rating from the driver because they are kept waiting AND it means my bill is higher because, again, the driver is left waiting. Last time we used the app the driver was an absolute jerk because his app showed us in a driveway to an apartment while my app showed me right in front of the imperial war museum. after trying to flag him down before he turned into the apartment driveway we walked over to him and his clock had started the second he stopped his car, not when we got in. He got mad when I refused to pay the extra fee and drove off without canceling the ride, but made sure to leave me one star reviews. My account was debited for the ride and it was an ordeal to contact the company to get my money back because you can only contact them via email or through the app, no phone number. While they did acknowledge the problem and refunded me they couldn’t remove the one star reviews from the jerk driver. This was supposed to make our lives easier while visiting London and instead it left us frustrated, inconvenienced, and poorer.
